I think that this week should be a kind of National Pride celebration this week.

I am not much of a soccer fan, but I love the WC and the way people celebrate.

I have seen people flying their country/team jerseys when I have been out and about....

I think some dusting off the Giant Screen TV and getting together to watch some sports in in order.

Team USA plays against the English tomorrow- I heard someone say that watching the Americans play futbol is like watching monkeys play tennis...

We shall see!:p

DONE? Not until July 11!;)

Can I get you a cup of coffee!

Someone in the neighbor hood is cooking breakfast.

I'll put up some sausage, eggs, toast and juice......

It's Thursday already?! This week is flying!

OK, OK, I know, what's my order? Let me think...how about turning those B'fast ingredients into a quiche? Haven't had that in a while...and a bloody mary sounds good with it! ;) No horseradish, though, thanks barkeep!

Quiche and a bloodmary, no horse. I am paying extra attention to your order.

STE,

Everyone needs a football buddy! See you on the World Cup thread!

LOL ... you know you're from San Francisco when you see the word "Pride" and think of that special parade we have every year where just about anything goes .... including clothing  and that multi-colored flag is flying all the way down Market Street.

An iced tea and I'm back to work ....

Waste of a good football field.

Where we live, one needs to either pay attention in dealing with people and know who to root for, and why they have certain colors of face paint and what which color represent, or avoid the subject of soccer/football altogether!

At a certain sandwich shop, the staff is mostly Brazilian immigrants (and the others know they are outnumbered), at another Indian, and certain grocery stores tend toward other countries, depending on which cashier or parking lot attendant or bagger you are speaking with! If the US is out of the World Cup in early rounds, it gets trickier to navigate.

Waste of a good football field.

This is for national pride!!!! The Brits were busting bags laughing at us.

It's sometimes tedious to watch, no commercials and such, but I love to watch the Mexican channels....the guy that screams "Goooooolllll" is a riot.
It's mindless fun and something to keep me occupied until the Tour.

DONE!

Karen,

Stay away from the Brazilians. I went to some international volleyball games and the cheered for everything. They yelled the whole time and never stopped moving. I was spent just sitting near them.
----------

I am having chicken salad for dinner with some chips and a cold drink.

Any takers?

I'm not much for sports so I'll just plunk myself down on this couch and chill awhile. It's been a very busy week and it shows no sign of letting up any time soon.:(

Richard, I could sure use something strong - maybe an Long Island Iced Tea. Yeah, that will do the trick and hmmm something to eat - something deep fried and very fattening. Should I call on Paula to fix me something? ;) After all, everything tastes better with butta and bacon. :)

Good Morning all! It's a beautiful day out there! There is coffee on the bar with fresh strawberries and croissants to toast - enjoy!:)

I finally heard the waka waka song (I didn't even know about it until Isabel said something about it on FB) - I like it! The video was catchy, too. I think it's just right for the occasion.

I am excited, US in about an hour and fifteen?

I'll butter your croissant for you-behave yourself;)- if you sit with me and watch the game? Let me pour you a cup.....

I was thinking about my GF and how she would NEVER let me fix her a cup of coffee.

LOLOLOL, I knew how to get her out of my favorite spot or give up the remote.

I would wander into the kitchen and announce I would fix her some coffee, the coffee snob in her would make her run into the kitchen to see what I was up to....:);)

Football is very big here so I am pretty sure I will be made to watch it over dinner tonight. I enjoy going to the games, but watching on TV is so boring!

Once I finished an exam yesterday a boy came up to me and asked if I was going home, to which I replied no, I had another exam to do.... he told me that sucked and I told him yes it did because I was exhausted and wanted to go home to which he replied 'oh... I was just thinking it sucks because you will miss the world cup game'

Anyway, on behalf of all the English footie fans... -shouts ENGLAND- and now I better be leaving before you all kick me out :p Can I have a croissant to go though please? ;)

Any chicken salad left??? I could to for a nice big scoop on a bed of lettuce, and a lemonade too please.

Oh - and that's only if it's homemade - no store bought stuff  - don't want to have any more bad reactions from the deli variety!

Did you ever try chick salad with apples and celery diced up really teeny-weeny in it??? It's yummy!

Thank you!

The announcers were talking about the impact of that goal!

That puts the U.S. team in a good position to advance. That means we will probably play Germany or the Aussies....If it works out.
