Child TV star Gary Coleman hospitalized
1 hour, 34 minutes ago
By The Associated Press
SALT LAKE CITY - A Utah hospital says former child television star Gary Coleman is in critical condition.
A Utah Valley Regional Medical Center spokeswoman says Coleman was admitted to the Provo facility on Wednesday but she couldn't release any other details.
Coleman lives in Santaquin, south of Salt Lake City.
The 42-year-old actor is best known for his stint on TV's "Diff'rent Strokes," which aired from 1978 to 1986.
In February, Coleman suffered a seizure on the set of "The Insider."
A telephone message left for Coleman's Utah attorney was not immediately returned Thursday.

If he was 18 in 1986 how can he be 42 now? such great fact checking. how much of what is written here is correct if these simple things are not?

I think I must have missed something. If he was 18 in 1986, then now in 2010, he would be 42.
I don't get it either caseysmom.
They reported on the a.m. news, that he is in a coma.

Gary Coleman desperately needs your "thoughts and prayers."
The former Diff'rent Strokes star, hospitalized after a fall earlier this week, is now on life support with a brain hemorrhage, according to his manager.
Coleman, 42, suffered the injury in his Utah home on Wednesday and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, manager John Alcantar said in a statement Friday. Coleman was then transferred to the ICU at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for further tests and treatment.
And there, things took a bad turn.
"As of mid-morning on May 27, Mr. Coleman was conscious and lucid," said Alcantar. "By early afternoon, Mr. Coleman was slipping in and out of consciousness and his condition worsened.
"We are saddened to announce that since mid-afternoon, Mountain Time, on May 27, 2010, Mr. Coleman has been unconscious and on life support."
In a sad coda to his statement, Alcantar says that despite Coleman's recent history of health problems and personal issues, "he always has had fond memories of being an entertainer and appreciates his fans for all their support over the years.
"At this critical moment, we can only ask for your thoughts and prayers for Gary to make a speedy and full recovery."

According to imbd.com and Wiki, he was born in 1968. So the above information is correct. He is 42.
However, both websites also say he died today. :-(

wom - legal, financial, health troubles...a couple of suicide attempts....yeah...but he did do some work, and even took a stint as a security guard on a film set. An actor who talked to him then said Gary was totally okay with that - "Ya gotta work," he said.
