Sophie passed away last night about 10.30pm.

10-20-2002, 10:46 AM
Oh, Oh, Oh, Tonya, I am sitting here with my mouth wide open in absolute shock - and tears streaming down my face.

What could I possibly say to you that would help you in any way?

Oh, I am so very very sorry.

All I know is that the Rainbow Bridge has one beautiful Angel now.

My heart is breaking for you....................

Please let all of us Pet Talkers rally around you and love you and try in our humble ways to comfort you.

Much love, Gini

Aww I'm so sorry to hear about Sophie. I know you loved her deaply and did everything you could. She is in no more pain any more. She's at teh rainbow bridge eating all the carrot tops and other things that bunnies love! You gave her a wonderful home and stuck by her till the end. You are truly a wonderful mother and Sophie was the greatest bunnie out there.

10-20-2002, 11:20 AM
I'm so sorry to hear about Sophie:(

10-20-2002, 11:38 AM
:( This is one of the few times in my life I am almost at a loss for words. Tonya, no one could have done more for Sophie or loved her more. You gave her 2 wonderful years that she might not have had if you hadn't adopted her. I know she is safe and happy now. Sometimes guardian angels jobs are to escort us home to live with God. I firmly believe animals have angels too.

Miz Sophie, our sweet friend. You left us way too soon. There will be a empty place in Pet Talk that only your blue-berry treat smile can fill. Rest now little friend. You taught a wonderful lesson of love to lots of us here at Pet Talk. Play with the angels and all our dear animal friends there with you. Eat as much parsley as you want. Someday you and your Mum will be reunited. I hope you will let us all come visit you in eternity.

10-20-2002, 12:12 PM
I am very sorry Tonya:( Words seem so inadequate. My friend has lost her beloved bunny and nothing I can say will take her pain away. This is a very sad day for us all. Miz Sophie was greatly loved by us all and the beautiful memories she has left behind will live in our hearts forever. My heart and prayers are with you and your family Tonya. Sophie was so lucky to have such a devoted, caring, loving furmom like you.

Dear Sophie, you were the apple of your Mommy's eye. Never was a bunny more loved and cherished than you dear one. During your life on this earth you brought so much love and laughter and comfort to the lives of those who knew you. Now you run with the angels in the light of God's glorious rainbow. Know that one day you and your Mommy will be reunited in love and laugher again. Bless you beautiful Sophie. Love, Sandra

Oh, Tonya, so sorry to hear that. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Sophie of the coal-black fur
Shining like obsidian eyes
Sweet and spunky, much loved girl
Muncher or parsley, giver of kisses

Sophie of those long, soft ears
That ever wiggling nose is now still,
But never will so many look
At a rabbit the same way ever again

Sophie of the angry thumps,
And the sweetest snuggles, and parsley breath
Sophie the spicy one, lovely to see
But no simple dumb bunny here,

Sophie, sleep now, better at last
Sleep stretched out in Mama's heart
Don't worry, dear, mommies hearts always expand to fit
Those legs-out-in-backm relaxed bunny sleeping

Sophie, pretty girl, shiny black soft-eyed bun,
We'll miss you, sweetheart, your pictures and tales
But forever you'll live on, dear one,
In all of our hearts, and in Mama's dreams

Black bunny angel, now,
With soft-silken black wings
Watch over us, please, and help
Make the world a better place for everyone
Human and rabbit alike,

We love you, Sophie!

We love you, Tonya.

Oh Tonya - {{{{Hugs}}}} coming across the miles to you at this very sad time.
You'll miss you're sweet black angel so much - she gave you so much love and pleasure - she's at R.B. now hoping her Mummy will soon stop her tears.
Such wonderful memories you will always keep. :( :(

Dear Tonya
I am so very sorry to hear about the sad death of Sophie Bunny, I do know how you feel with the lose of two bunnies this year.

My thoughts are with you, Sophie will be playing with Ebony and Gem in bunny heaven.

Love to you!

10-20-2002, 01:29 PM
Oh Tonya, I am so very sorry.:(

I was thinking about Mz Sophie last night from a
picture you once posted. Sophie in a tiara. Such a
sweet, sweet friend she must have been to you.

I am so very sorry for your loss Zippy.:( :( :(

10-20-2002, 01:38 PM
Little Miz Sophie, sweet girl, I'm sorry you lost your fight to stay with your loving mom. Our world won't be the same without you - but I bet parsley futures just went up on the Rainbow Bridge stock exchange!

Zippy, every one of us here at PetTalk have been touched by the love and humor you gave us with Miz Sophie and her stories. I am so sorry for your loss.

10-20-2002, 02:46 PM
Tonya, words escape me. I'm so sorry about losing Sophie so young. Remember the good times.

I just returned from the weekend at my in-laws and the first thing I did was check on Sophie. I am so sorry for you Tonya. I had never even known of bunnies as pets until your Sophie. My favorite picture was the one where she is with your mother. She looks like a stuffed animal with VERY big feet. I was enchanted.

My heart breaks for you Tonya. Sophie will be missed.

10-20-2002, 03:08 PM
I'm sitting here thinking that the Princess of Parsley is up in Heaven telling all the others about her wonderful mom and yummy parsley. She is pain free and getting to know her new friends, and many of our old friends.

Sometimes what we pray for isn't what we get, but God needed her, Tonya. And your heart is breaking, as are all of ours. We will miss that beautiful princess of yours, and all the stompin feet and parsley and blueberry stories.

In time, I hope your grieving will ease and you can enjoy your memories of that special girl. We will miss her too. :(

Tonya, I'm so sorry to hear about Miz Sophie. Our thoughts are with you. Someone at the Rainbow Bridge must have needed her and called her before her time on earth was due. She'll be watching upon you with her bunny friends.

10-20-2002, 06:56 PM

Words fail me right now. Sophie was a wonderful girl, you must be hurting so badly right now. That little special darling WILL be waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge, but Pet Talk world is a little more arid without our Princess of Parsley to bring smiles to our lips. Holding you and those involved in this loss in our thoughts and prayers.

10-20-2002, 07:33 PM
Oh, Tonya, I am so sorry to hear about yopur sweet Sophie bunny. :( :( I will keep you in my prayers. Sophie was a wonderul bunny, and I know she loved you lots. Again, I'm very sorry.

I can't believe, sweet Sophie is gone. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

10-20-2002, 08:26 PM
Oh, Tonya, my heart is breaking. I can hardly see through my tears. Sophie will be missed so very much. No words can take away the pain you are feeling right now. Know that we are thinking of you. Try to remember the good times and know that Sophie had the best life with you. I am so sorry.

10-20-2002, 08:41 PM
Oh Tonya, words cannot express the sorrow I feel for the loss of Mz Sophie, I just saw her picture a day or so ago and I thought she was so beautiful, black just like my beloved Daisy. I have known her through your posts and have come to love her like everyone else here, you and Mz Sophie would make me laugh and I would look forward to your posts.
I'm sure Mz Sophie is at the Bridge with all of our beloved pets who went before her, making them laugh as she did all of us.
Mz Sophie was a wonderful companion and loved you so very much as you loved her. I'm sure that God has a special place at the Bridge for her and she will be waiting for the day when you will be reunited with her. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

10-20-2002, 09:02 PM
Are you talking about Miss Sophie the sweet little bunny girl?? Tonya, I am so sorry. Well I am sure she is in a happy place with lots of other bunnies. Maybe she will meet my Snowball and all the other Pet Talk Pets up there and have a little Rainbow Bridge Pet Talk. I am really sorry. About three days ago I saw her pic for the first time and she was beautiful. Well at least she does not have to deal with illness anymore. Like I always say, one day you will meet up with her in heaven. I'm sure she is looking down on you right now and knowing that you care. Can't you just see her little bunny-tears of joy that you loved her so much.

10-20-2002, 09:04 PM
I feel so bad for you Tonya. You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your sweet Sophie. As AntiPam said " every one of us here at PetTalk have been touched by the love and humor you gave us with Miz Sophie and her stories." We thank you for giving us those wonderful stories. Remember all the good times and that our famous bunny is at peace.

OMG! I`m so sorry to hear about Sophie! Sophie was a wonderful little bunny! I`m sure she`s looking down on you right now from the RB!

10-20-2002, 10:17 PM
I am at a loss for words. And I have such a hard time seeing through all these tears. Tonya, you were the perfect bunny mom and although Sophie was not on this earth for very long, she had a wonderful, wonderful life. You saved her from becoming snake food and in return, she became your most devoted bunny friend. She was one lucky bunny, and I think someone in heaven really needed her beautiful soul.

I am absolutely devistated. I feel as if I lost one of my own pets. My heart is broken and I am sobbing. I am so, so sorry, dear friend :( Beautiful Sophie Bunz is in a good place with a never-ending supply of parsley and carrot tops. I will never, ever forget her. Sophie touched my heart with her indearing traits. I had never known how much personality a bunny could have until I "met" you through this site, and "met" Sophie.

Rest in peace, dear bunny friend :(

Love to you from Leslie, Graham, Kersey & Minion.

10-20-2002, 10:24 PM
Come to think of it, Tonya, certain family members of mine might be spoiling Sophie while she waits for you ... for them, the Rainbow Bridge WOULD be heaven. So if someday, a long time from now, when you meet again, she looks a little chubbier ...
you can find my mom and scold her!

10-20-2002, 10:54 PM
omg... I'm so sorry.. I don't even know what to say :( I'm so very sorry for your loss..

10-20-2002, 11:54 PM
Somewhere near the beautiful Rainbow Bridge, nibbling on Parsley, may your little darling Princess be recuperating from the fears and challenges of the last few days...

May it comfort her to know that my Cassy dedicated the killing of a sock out of our laundry in the name of Mz. Sophie.

It's not much, but it was from his heart.

Dear Tonya,
I am so sorry for the loss of your Dear Sophie Bunny....i know how much she meant to you....

i wish that i had something that could ease your hurt...

10-21-2002, 12:20 AM
Tonya, I'm so sorry to hear about Sophie's passing. This was such a shock to me that I don't even know what I can say. Just try to remember the good times that you had with her. Miz Sophie will truly be missed here but it must have been her time to go to RB. My thoughts and prayers are with you. RIP Miz Sophie. {{{{HUGS}}}}

10-21-2002, 01:12 AM
OH NO! :( :( :( I was out the whole day today and only got to come online to check how our Princess of Parsley *thumpz* Sophie Bunny was doing! I am so shocked. :( She was a great bunny and will always be missed. I know how you must be feeling right now and we share your sorrow for the loss of your dearest bunny. My all time favorite picture of her was when you posted a picture of her when she was wet from her shower and was upset about it and said *thumpz.* :( All of Sophie's hilarious *thumpz* stories always cheered me up and Pet Talk will never be the same without the greatest Sophie Bunny. :( We all share your sorrow! :(

I am so sorry to hear about Sophie! She was so sweet!...Rest in peace, dear Sophie! :(

10-21-2002, 06:22 AM
So many beautiful tributes and memories to a special little soul... In a world with so much trouble, a spark of hope shines that so many would be touched by the stories of one Sophie, ebony bunny extraordinaire, and brought to tears by her untimely passing!

The sadness of loss bespeaks the strength of love that preceeded it. We are all blessed to know such love, sweet Sophie, thanks for bringing sunshine into so many lives, dear Tonya, thanks for sharing part of her life with us!

Our thoughts are with you - Ritz sends a big tuxedo headbumpie and purr your way. :(

10-21-2002, 06:58 AM
Oh, Zippy kat, I am so sorry for your loss. I did not even know Sophie and I am crying while reading all the wonderful tributes of her. She must have been one super special bunny, and you will meet up with her again later at the RB.
As the pain subsides you will have such great mamories of her. Take care.

10-21-2002, 07:54 AM
As I sit here with tears rolling down my face, I remember the first time I seen beautiful Sophie. I couldn't believe when I'd read your posts that a person could love a bunny so much, but over time I've grown to love her too. She will truly be missed by everyone on this board. If you ever need anything, we're here for you.
Please accept my sincere condolences.

Dear Tonya ~

I'm So Sorry.

My tears are making typing difficult -
I'll try to do better later...

Please know that ALL of us are grieving with you -

Miss Sophie will always be our Favorite Bunny.

I am shocked to hear about Sophie and more upset than I can say. She, and you, inspired me to take in Casey, my elderly lady who so much looks and acts like she's Sophie's twin. My heart breaks for you and what you've been through. I know that time you took off from work really was one of the best things you could have done for her and yourself, and shows so much love.

I think Sophie is probably having a great time up on Rainbow Bridge playing with my Suzie, and beloved bunnies from our sanctuary.

I hope some day, when the time is right, you will see a way to adopt another bunny.... I believe they truly help us heal.
My prayers are with you. :(

10-21-2002, 12:27 PM
So sorry about Sophie. ((HUGS))

10-21-2002, 12:43 PM
I don't know how many people noticed me yesterday as I walked first with Hannah and then Tucker, but I was talking quietly as I walked to our Sophie in the Sky. What was said was between Sophie and me. Tonya, I guess you can tell how much we loved the little girl we learned to know through you. If it hurts this much for us to know she is gone, we can hardly imagine how much it hurts for you. I only hope that our sharing your sorrow is of some comfort to you. There will be times you want to talk about this and times you don't. Please know that we are here for you anytime you do, either in this forum or privately.

I'm new to the board, but have been reading my e-mails and the posts here about Sophie, and you were in my prayers over the weekend. When I read the e-mail all I could think of was OH NO! I was weeping! I'm so sorry for your loss. As I read all of the posts I know your Sophie was very special to everybody!

10-21-2002, 03:55 PM
I can't even begin to say how sorry I am to hear about Sophie. I was praying so hard that she would beat the odds once more and was so saddened when I read the news this morning. No doubt she meant a lot to you because she also meant so much to all of us here. She was a true Pet Talk family pet, and will dearly be missed. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and we are all here for you.

Weep not for me though I am gone into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul's at rest
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed.
For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.

Thank you everyone.

Yesterday, as I burried my heart in the backyard, I decided I wasn't going to post anymore. Though this is my 'second home' I feel strangely out of place; this is a pet board and I have just a gentle (raw) memory. Before I go, I just wanted to tell you all how continually amazed I am by your offering of love and support. All of these posts are absolutely beautiful. Miz Sophie would be blushing by now and to make Miz Sophie, the bold -sometimes brash- bunster, blush is quite a feat! I cherish each and every post--I have printed them out and will treasure them forever.

I have always, always, always considered myself a cat person...but not any longer. That Miz Sophie *thumped* the lagomorphs into my heart and soul; I am officially a bunnie person. She had such a vivacious personality--rarely frightened, thumping when royally PO'd, begging at the fridge for carrots, runnin' full tilt everytime she heard the treat bag rattle, standing in front of the ocilating fan--ears a' flappin' in the breeze, a weakness for nose skritches, and a sucker for kissie sessions (or maybe that last one was me....).

I keep waiting to feel nudges on my ankles, the kisses on my nose, her whiskers brush against my skin... and it's just gone! No noise from the cage, no grunts from the food bowl, no purring from the floor ... no noise of any kind. The cage, the room, the house, (and my heart) are entirely too quiet.

Syldion, I feel so honored for Sophie to "have" your very first post. I am truly in awe of how many people this lil' bun touched; I never realized there were so many. I heartfully thank you for your prayers and well wishes. You will love pet talk and its family.

The Fed Ex man just delivered 15lbs of oat hay, 5lbs of timmy hay, and a treat basket; I haven't the heart to return them.

Last night, I could've swore I felt her on my pillow. Her cage is still up, the door still open.... should her spirit come to visit, I want her to know she is still welcome.

To all my friends here, I send much love. Please feel free to contact me by email ( [email protected] or [email protected] ), by phone, or by address. Perhaps one day, I'll be back with a new furbabe to share with you. Until then, you have my love and best wishes.

A few words of wisdom, taught to me by a certain somebunnie...

Getz into trubblez often but lookz cutiez whenz you doz-
Whenz sumbunniez cryin', jist kizz da tearz awayz-
Poopin' on da bedz will onlee getz you sentz to yer cage-
Peein' on pillowz getz da same resultz-
Neber turn downz a gud snugglez 'n ear skritch-
If it rattlez, den itz prolly gotz treatz in it-
Lifez much betterz when you iz houzebrokenz-
Whenz in doubtiez, chew da blanketz 'n carpetz-
Carrotz iz gud, Parzley iz betterz-
Da fridgeagator iz greedy an keepz doze guyz in hiz belly-
Tinker-kat eatz hay; headbuttz her ennie chanze you getz-
Boxer-dog-Sara iz a fraidypup, chaze her 'n laffz-
Makez a mezz when eatin' strawberriez, it lookz bloodie and grozzez mom outiez-

Sum timez, you just gotta *tHuMpZ*

Love always,
Zippy-kat (aka Tonya)

(For those on the Christmas List, don't fret--it'll be taken care of.)

10-21-2002, 04:53 PM
Awww, Tonya, my heart is breaking all over again but I certainly understand your need for a break. I firmly believe that was your sweet bun visiting you on your pillow. She will always be near by. Just because you can't see something (or someone) doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Don't be surprised if another furry face enters your life some day paw-picked by the Princess of Parsley herself. I plan to stay in touch so be forewarned.

10-21-2002, 06:22 PM
oh this is just so sad!! :( :( Tonya I don't blame you for needing a break either. I do hope you decide to come back though. Did you get the email I sent you last night? I will definately keep in touch and I'm praying for you. I'm sure that Sophie did visit you last night.. because she would want you to know that she's ok now. ok I have to stop before I start to cry.. god bless.. :(

10-21-2002, 07:02 PM

I understand the pain, although I can not say anything
that will take it away. Your heart has been ripped from
your body. I too felt totally "dis-connected" from everything
else in my life after I lost my Buddy. Believe me, we all
understand where you are right now. Please take care
of yourself and try to rest when you can. Please know
that you are loved by all here and remembered in our
prayers. Hugs from Liz & Smokey Joe.

I also understand your need for a break. But, don't stay away forever - you are a big part of Pet Talk and you would be greatly missed. It is something how one bunny named Sohie could give us so many wonderful memories - we won't forget either of you anytime soon.

Tonya, I can understand your desicion, and I respect it. It's very hard to lose a loved one, esp. someone as special as Miz Sophie was (and always will be, for all of us). I understand that it would be really hard to come here, to a place that reminds you of her so much. Please, take care of yourself, and as said, remember the good times. Reading yur post and seeing how much this hurts you, I admire that you came back and wrote us.

Tonya , I can fully understand how you fell right now , and why you need a break ...! Miz Sophie was so very dear to you and everything here reminds you of her . So , if you wanna stay away for a while , we will all understand !!
I hope you will have another sweetheart one day ; lil Miz Sophie will send you one as soon as you are ready for it !
take care dear Tonya !

10-22-2002, 06:30 AM
Yeah, when an animal dies (and I have had lots of them die), the best thing to do is just take a break from everything. That is what I did when I lost all my bunnies...and kitties...and doggies...and piggies....and hammies...and gerbils...and ratties...:rolleyes:well you get the point. You will still be one of Pet Talk's devoted posters! Miz Sophie will have a fun time up there when she meets my grandma! Boy is she a fun person! And when she meets Miss Perfect, Ciara, Snowball, Harriet, Guy, Guy JR, Mack, Max, Smokey, Shadow, Mickey, and all my other pets she will have fun too!! And with all the bunnies up there they will probably make her QUEEN of Parsley!! Anyway, Miz Sophie will see you again...just you wait...

Thank you for this Phred. It also expresses what is in my heart today. Tonya, we love you and will miss you but do pray that when the time is right you will return. I know you have opened my eyes to the wonders of having a bun-bun for a pet. I only wish we could have had more time to get to know Ms. Sophie even better. (((((HUGS)))))

Tonya, take care! Hope you'll come back to your PT family one day - we will all miss you! - And remember, we're here for you! :)

Hi Tonya...Me and the kids, Boy Boy and Girl Girl, send our deepest sympathy to you. You have always been a resource for me with my bunnies and I know Sophie had a GREAT life. My prayers to you!

My Sunny went to the Bridge over 15 yrs ago and he still comes to me sometimes at night and I can feel him on my shoulder. I'm sure Miz Sophie will not let you stay alone either.

Dear Tonya,
I am so very sorry to hear about Miz Sophie. She was a very special part of all our lives thanks to the wonderful stories you have shared with us over the years. I can picture her giving her "THUMPZ" and demanding parsley. I can see her giving you bunny kisses and snuggling up with you.

I wish there was some way I could take the pain and loneliness away that you are feeling right now. I have been there and know how you feel like your whole world seems so empty now. Nothing I can say can make that go away but it is encouraging to know that in time the memories become sweeter again and the pain becomes less. You are a changed person because of the special love that a special bunny has shared with you. You are a richer person for being loved and loving one of God's creations so unconditionally. I can only imagine that there was a special reason God chose this time to take your much cherished loved one. I can see the angels all fussing over her right now.

As for Pet Talk, take the time you need to grieve but remember that we all love you and want you to stay part of this caring community. In your heart you are a pet lover and that is what Pet Talk is all about. You have a lot to contribute to others who come into this world of sharing their love of animals. You know our pets as well as we knew yours and you are a part of their lives now. It would be an empty place if we never heard from you. And then.... on a magical day when the time is right, you will once again have another pet to share with all of us and we will all rejoice with you.

Prayers and Love,

{{{{{HUGS}}}}} http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid36/p769724441c59566136645379ce56721a/fd21d584.jpg

Tonya, all of us here feel your pain. Can you stay (after you take a break) and help US? I am so sorry.

10-23-2002, 12:18 PM
Oh dear Tonnya - I've just returned from hospital and what's the first thing I read on Pet Talk - 'our' Tonya's thinking of leaving us!
Please, please take a break but 'this' is your family - this is where you belong - Don't go. WE need you {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

10-23-2002, 07:27 PM
Tonya- I am so sorry about the loss of poor Sophie. You did everything you could to help her. I hope after you have had some time to grieve you will stay with us at PT.

10-23-2002, 10:00 PM
Tonya, I also agree that you should take a break from Pet Talk but I sure hope that it won't be a premanent one. You are a big part of the Pet Talk community. It just wouldn't be the same here without you. Take care. {{{{HUGS}}}}

Oh Tonya, I'm so so sorry to hear about Miz Sophie. I've been trying to get caught up at work and haven't had much time to check many of the threads except on the cat side, and I completely missed this until your post about your new, precious little KC. I'm sure Miz Sophie didn't like you being upset and sent KC to help comfort you.

When I was real, real young, we had a few rabbits as pets, but I don't remember much about them, so Miz Sophie was the first bun I knew that was a true pet, that had a personality and was loved and cared for like every pet could only hope for. We got to know her lovely personality through all your posts, and we will truely miss her. Although I'm sure what we all feel is only a fraction of what you have gone through in the past few weeks.

I hope the adorable KC brings you much comfort, which will help Miz Sophie to rest in peace.

11-14-2002, 09:59 AM

Please accept my apology for not posting earlier... I've veiwed this thread many times.... but just didn't know what to say. All i can say is sorry. Everytime i saw parsley, i thought of you and Sophie. I was hoping one day i could meet her, and me and her could share a bowl of parsley. Congrats on your Kitty. Maybe it's just Sophie in a KAT costume.

11-28-2002, 06:11 PM
i didn't know much about sophie, but i can see you loved her very much. i'm so sorry for your loss. :(

We at the lost cats hotel also send our deepest condolences on the passing of dear Sweet Sophie. But as my pastor always reminds us it is just our physical self that passes on our spirit is free to live in Paradise. And since all good cats go to heaven I am sure she is now playing with Mr. Fluffy , Mr Scrappy , Tiger , Munchkin , Orange Blossom , Buster Kitten and the first cat that I ever was guardian for , Precious Pouncer , my little pal.Sophie is romping in Cat Heaven , sniffing cat nip and playing with Cat Angel toys , God bless her memory.

Hopefully, she's isn't too buddy-buddy with the cats....Sophie was a Bunny. :)

(K'Cee, my new kitten, is pictured above.)

Unfortunately my eyes are dimmming and I did not see that sweet Sophie was a rabbit. I would edit my post but only have an hour on the library computer and I have no idea what to do.But the spirit of my message is still there as The Cat Angel Army has many non cat pals , and there is enough food and love on the Rainbow Bridge as animals , unlike humans do not fight when there is plenty of food and love. I am sure my Cat angels are rounding up carrota and lettuce even as I am typing this. Sorry about that Sophie.

I wanted to say Thank you to everyone who replied and I apologize for not writing 'thank you note' this earlier. It's just so hard to visit this thread, sometimes. I try to read it thru but never can make it without breaking down.

I have good days that I remember her and smile and shed a few happy tears. Then there are those days (like today) that I want to do nothing more than stay in bed and feel sorry for myself. She's out of pain and I should be happy about that -- and I am, don't get me wrong -- but how I miss that girl!!!

I can't write all I that I want... lol it's kinda hard to see thru the runny mascara now. But please, please, PLEASE know that all your thoughts, comments, emails, EVERYTHING means sooo much to me!

A few of Mom's classroom kids were asking when "that black bunny" would be coming back to visit them. :( :) A bittersweet comment --- I guess she touched more people than I ever realized.

:( :o *REALLY* can't see now -- my eyes have sprung a huge leak. lol

I was hoping I'd be able to say more... I guess it will have to wait a lil' while longer...

I know it's belated, but I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU.

Much luv,
the Zippster

Of course we support you Tonya in this difficult time. You have certainly needed it. I am so glad that little black bunny angel sent you that fiesty kitty angel to help you!
It has been over a year since Shaianne's death and when I read her thread that I posted on her death I still cry.
We love you!

12-20-2002, 02:12 AM

I'm having a hard time seeing through my tears too so bear with me. I admire your strength and courage through this time. It is not an easy thing to go through. Your love and memories of Sophie keep her alive in your heart. She will forever be mommy's spoiled princess. Not only did she touch your life, your family's lives, your mom's students' lives, but she also touched ours... Through your words and pictures, we all could tell what a special girl she was. She is missed terribly and lives on through so many people.

I know she's up at the Bridge causing all sorts of mischief right now :)

12-20-2002, 07:24 AM
At the Rainbow Bridge, there are special Christmas trees, I just know it - festooned with parsley and hay and little balls that jingle - and seed treats, which are non-caloric at the Rainbow Bridge, so Sophie doesn't have to woryy about getting pudgy!

Seriously, we know you miss her, and always will. Funny how our hearts seem so full, but then another animal manages to find a place there!

Enjoy Christmas kitten mischeif ....

If it's hard for me to read this, I can't imagine how it is for you.
But know, we are always here for you, whenever you need us, if only just the share in a memory or two.
Take care & have fun with that new little ball of fur this christmas!

Thanks, Ash, Gini, Phred.

*blush* here come the waterworks...

I've been missing her sooo badly lately--does this friggin' "knife thru the heart" ever stop?

Sometimes it seems forever ago that I touched her and other times it seems not so long. I can't help but wonder if this is all some sort of bad dream and I'll wake from it any minute... but it's not or else Piper and K'Cee wouldn't be here.

I just want her back! And that's so selfish, she might be in pain again... (and because I wouldn't have K'cee or my Pippiesqueak...)

*blushes thru tears* you guys must think of me as a blubbering fool... :o

I'm sure our Princess of Parsley has become Queen of the Rainbow Bridge. All the other pets probably cater to her every whim.

When does the hurt stop? Well, my Mom died 39 years ago this month. I'm still waiting. It does get easier to live with though. Every day brings me closer to the time I will see her and my Dad and all my passed animals again.

*smiles* You're right, Lynne. She's probably running amuck (wonder where she got that from *polishes halo*) but I bet they're not running in search of food. That darn Miz Sophie is probably chasing them (as she was known to do w/ Sara and Tinker)! lol

{{Thanks guys.}} Ya know, out of all the animals I've lost I think her passing has been the worst on me. I thought I was finished with the grief stages and then *wham* they hit me again. I wonder if it's because of the holiday (I keep remember last year's "Hug Your Bunny Day" -- where Soph and I were "boy cotton" V-day.)

It helps having another bun, albeit she doesn't cuddle like Soph did. But Piper's Piper. She's young, not spayed (oh boy are we countin' down till spay day!! It won't come soon enough!!), and sadly, I'm wondering if she wasn't abused in her previous home. She shies from human touch -- doesn't even like nose/ear/neck skritches. She plays--binkies like crazy--and she's curious about humans but she flinches when you touch her. It's going to take quite awhile to establish a bond. (altho I did get my first Piper-bunny kiss the other day!) But I'm glad she's here -- couldn't ask for a more unique little girl! Just wish I could have my Sophie too...

Thanks for listening to me ramble. You guys are the best!

how come this post stays at the top when other ppl reply to other post *just curiouse* And remeber when one dies anoth is born :)

02-26-2003, 01:59 PM
This post is staying on top because other people are posting and responding to Bunny Binkies.

We are very aware that new pet babies are born each and every day - and many will never know the loving home that Sophie enjoyed.

A new baby may be born but for Tonya, no new pet will ever replace the love she had for Sophie. And that goes for the rest of Pet Talkers who have gotten to know Sophie and Tonya well.

It is important for all of us to be sensitive to each others feelings!

02-26-2003, 03:27 PM
gini, I ment no offence at all .. I just ment that everything dies eventully and you cant go on being depressed.. I am just trying to cheer Sophies mom up.... Is that A crime.. I am not trying to be mean at all .. Just reasuring that there is a thing called the cercle of life and everyones goes through it... May Sophie rest in peace and always remeber that she had the best home in the world for her :)

02-26-2003, 10:43 PM
Thanks, Gini, but I knew this day would come.

Karen/Paul, I appreciate you keeping this thread up for so long. I'm not sure you if you were waiting for my 'ok' to take it down or if you left it up for other purposes.

I must admit that it's a bit of a comfort to see it up here... but if it's offending others, perhaps it's time to let it slip into memory.

~ Thank you again ~

02-26-2003, 10:52 PM
I noticed when a thread is "announcing" it stays on the top??

But how do you make threads "announcments"? That's what I wonder? I don't think this thread should offend anyone at all. If it brings you comfort, that is the best thing. Although it has been many months now, the pain caused by the loss of a pet remains forever. :( May Sophie R.I.P. :(

02-26-2003, 11:14 PM
I think only Karen and Paul can make it an Announcement thing.

And if it brings Tonya comfort, I vote leave it up FOREVER!

*hugs to Tonya, Piper, and K'Cee*

02-26-2003, 11:54 PM
I don't think it offends anyone at all, there are a few threads with announcing on it.
Tikeya's mom, don't be so defensive, Gini meant no harm.

02-27-2003, 02:31 PM
I not being defensive.... I am just fine with it being up :) .. I just was wondering why? .. Thats all..I thought it was becauseof all the replys :) .. I guess I was wronge..

03-07-2003, 08:45 PM
thats what i thought too......

04-08-2003, 07:26 PM
Only a Moderator or Administrator can make a thread "sticky" and I have now unstuck this thread. I left it that way for a while because people who hadn't been here for a while would pop in and ask about Miss Sophie, so I wanted them to know.

But by folks posting in it, it also then appears on the "Today's active topics list." Now, hopefully it won't after a while.

Gone but never forgotten, Miss Sophie, the West-of-the-Mississippi Princess of Parsley!

Zippie-Kat and Miz Sophie were (and still are) a unique team that gave us many hours of joy and great fun. Didn't we all learn something about "love" from them both?

Never to be forgotten........Miz Sophie and our treasure Tonya!
