What a wonderful story about how you greeted Monte and became good friends thereafter. Such a sweetheart you are. Cats are such good medicine for both humans and their fur friends. After the trauma that you and your babies suffered, one would think you would be the one who needed the special attention but b/c you have been so loved by your new family, you were able to help another.
