... is booked for tomorrow at 11.20. I hope he won’t need his teeth cleaned! You know how I worry about the aneastesia. I've been trying to have a look inside his mouth, but he's not being very cooperative.

According to the "Birthdate" thread Wom posted a while ago, it should be one of Fister's lucky days tomorrow.

Marie-Claire (Dali’s mom) will come over and help get him there in her car, and give me some moral support. :)

The box is sitting in the living-room, I was hoping he would find it interesting to spend some time in there, but no! So unless he jumps in tomorrow morning, I guess I’ll just have to grab him and put him in.

Please send some good thoughts that Fister is healthy! I love him SO much!

These are his numbers for previous years - will update with the new ones after the vet visit.

Oh, Fister, lucky you! Good luck tomorrow.

Randi- I usually see a BUN and creatine (sic) reading...maybe overthere it is called something else??? It might be the alat??? Just mentioning it.

Thank you for all your good wishes and fingers and paws crossed. :) Fister and I are going to bed to have a good cuddle very soon.

Cataholic, all I know is that Urea = Kidney levels, Alat = Liver, and Glucose = Sugar, as I'm sure you know. I've never seen BUN mentioned. And Creatine... what's that? Oh, all these different medical terms.

Lut, you can bet that he'll have some good snacks once we're safely back home. :)

Moff, don't you try to convince me that you're up that early! :D But thanks for the good thoughts.

Thank you for your good thoughts! :)

We're back from the vet. Fister was such a good boy and I'm glad to tell you his levels are within normal. :D In fact, the vet was amazed his numbers are so good, since he is almost 14 years old.

Fister was also weighed and had his teeth, eyes, ears and heart checked. He has even put on a little bit of weight since last year! Now 6,9 kg. His teeth are looking fairly good, the vet scraped off a little tartar on one, but he didn’t need a full cleaning. :)

Getting him there and back was a bit of a hassle though, all the streets in the area are one way streets or have been closed off for cars, so I had to walk the last bit with him - he is heavy in that box!

Fister has had some of his favourite treats and is now taking a nap in his bed.

I will update his numbers up in the first post, so you can compare.

This looks like a VERY healthy kitty to me:D
Excellent!

And BTW, the creatinine level is something you begin to check once the urea level is out of order as it is also a kidney indicator. But if urea is ok- and it is in Fister - it doesn't make sense to check it :)

Kisses delivered - thanks!

I forgot to ask the vet about BUN and creatinine, so thanks for the info, Barbara. I did ask whether he should have the thyroid checked (T4 I think), but he said that since Fister didn't have a sudden weight loss, it was not neccesary. :)

Well done Fister! Now was there really any need to be rude and poke your tongue out at the camera! :)
