My mom and I were driving home when we saw this guy on the side of the road. He wandered out into the middle (this is a fairly busy road, might I add) in a lull of traffic but we snatched him before anything bad could happen. He had a collar and tags, so we loaded him up in the back of the car and took him home. I was kind of surprised at how little the owner cared that his dog (an older dog, he didn't move too fast) was found across a busy street and down about a half mile. 0.0 I guess not as many people care as much as I do, baha.
ANYWAYS...this is Toby My mom says that if we find him again we're bringing him home, haha. He's SUCH a nice dog!
And I officially want my next dog to be a chocolate lab :) I'm slowly falling completely in love with the breed! (in fact...I may be heading to my grandma's to bathe a big ole lab today!)

Good for you and your mom for helping Toby out! :) If only his owners cared half as much.:(

That is wonderful that you took him home, but sad that the owner didn't much care. He looks like a nice dog. Wonder if the owner would even look for him.
Labs are THE BEST dogs. Hmmmm...am I biased? I miss my Labby girl. You will never regret getting a Lab.

Our first dog (before Sadie) was a yellow lab...I swear, she was the smartest dog ever. Very laid back and tolerant, too - she put up with me and my sister running her ragged for the first 7 years of my life haha.
The owner was like, "Oh, he got out?" and didn't seem too perplexed about the whole situation...I was kind of concerned. When you live on a busy, main road, you have to be a little safety conscious!

Toby looks happy in that pic! LOL, good for you, kudos to your mom, for stopping to lend a helping hand.
You can see from the gray muzzle he is an older gent. Maybe the guy was just . . . being a guy? If there are other family members we can hope they respond differently / better to Toby's return.

Our black Lab Jasper that we had many years ago loved the car so much. Whenever we would open the car up to clean it out on the weekends he would get in the back seat, sit right in the middle and he just had this expression like "okay let's go". Sometimes he would not get out so we would drive him around the block. He was a real love. I wish the cats like car rides.

Awww. his expression is adorable. he looks like a peaceful laid back dog. :D an might i add photogenic to the list.
i know from personal experience that sometimes people find it difficult to express how they feel. so they may come of as a 'eh. whatever' attitude; when they actually feel otherwise. may or may not be the case with this guy. hard saying really. buy just thought id toss that out there :)

yeah...but he didn't even like...pet the dog or anything. He hardly looked at Toby when we brought him back! It was like... *glance* "oh...he got out again?" *let Toby inside* "he does that sometimes." I dunno...I was just a little surprised. Who knows, maybe he jumped for joy after we left, haha.

I hope so. I feel sad for dogs that are not truly loved and appreciated. :(
