Hello everyone....I know it seems I only come on here when I need a little pep talk but this weekend has been incrediably difficult for me but for the most part Paris...I love her so much that its making this whole "home recovery" very difficult.
On Wednesday I noticed that she hadn't been out at all to visit with use and then Thrusday night she didn't even come up for bed. Which she always does anyway long story short they did exploritory surgery on her yesterday afternoon and all they found was that her intestine was twisted really bad and they untwisted it. Yet her appetite hasn't gotten much better since. I took her in again today they put more subquetaneous fluids under her skin and sent us home with more pain meds. The kind that you dont have shove down her throat. She hates medicine of any sort. She was also given one dose of valium in the hopes of calming her down a bit. Now that has begun to wear off she is being a little more like Paris the pain meds they gave her made her act way off the wall....
I guess my question would be?? Shaking is a sign of pain correct? I should give her more pain meds then shouldn't I regardless of how tumbly they make her. I need some advice I just wish this entire nightmare would just go away!! And I could get my baby back to the way she was...

Call the Vet - first thing in the morning. I'm surprised they didn't keep her at the Vet for the weekend.

I'm so sorry to hear about Paris.:( I've never heard of shaking being a sign of pain. My Sunny had cancer and when he was in pain he'd just look so sad and just sit quietly and he just wasn't himself. I'd also be calling your vet or an ER vet for more information. I hope she'll recover quickly and I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care. (((HUGS)))

Call your vet right away. Shaking isn't a good sign no matter what it signifies. I do hope that she gets better very soon but perhaps she needs to stay at your vet's until she shows noticeable signs of improvement. Keep the faythe.

I really thought she should have stayed at the vets office as well... They don't open till 9 this morning my vet happend to be out this weekend so I had to take her to a different vet where they did the surgery. I hate that I can not get food down her. She just licks the gravy off of the food still won't eat solids. If anything she is going to need at least another round of fluids today. No eating though terrifies me...You know everyone says felines have 9 lives but all of my siamese dont ever get the chance to live one really good life...Well gang if she pulls through this I will thank the good lord above over and over and over... I and cherish every waking momment with her. I don't care if my boss is upset with me for not going into work....I pretty much don't care at this point. She is all I care about. I just can't believe how sensitive their little bodies are...She is withering away to nothing. Please keep her in your prayers...

I sure hope that your vet will be able to help her feel more comfortable and hopefully they'll be able to get her to eat some too. You may even have to end up force feeding her with a big syringe and some canned Hills A/D diluted with water until she's able to eat on her own. I had to do this with my RB Pepper many years ago. Vitamin B12 shots also help with appetite so please ask your vet about this. These really helped my Ziggy when she stopped eating on her own. I'll continue to keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh thank you I haven't been able to get on here much for an update but this week has been terrible she had to go to the University of Minnesota where she spent two nights she was set up with a tube which they fed her through then on Wednesday they sent us home with the tube and feeding syringes where we had to feed her through her tube well needless to say she did well the first night then she took a turn for the worst vomiting started last night at 12:00 and continued until around 1:30 this afternoon. So we loaded her up drove her the hour and half the the University were they admitted her into the ICU once again where she is getting more fluids via IV and they will start up the tube feeding in the AM. They are going to keep her in the pet hospital until the feeding tube is removed and she is able to eat on her own. I am exhausted I have a angry employer I am sure...My money is gone and I can only hope that she will make a good recovery and come home soon! This has been quite the ordeal. All I care about is that she is home with me and that this doesn't become a chronic problem...Sometimes it chronic...I have to look into pet insurance because this is pretty hard to pay for. I have thousands into her at this point. I can only imagine they won't cover her at this point because she now probably has a Pre existing condition? If that works the same as humane insurance?? Please keep the prayers coming and more than words can say I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of your thoughts and prayers... You are all wonderful and thoughtful...
More than I can say about a lot of other people in my life...I get the usual stupid comments that people say...They don't understand what the bond can be between a person and their Siamese...They are so faithful...she was trying to make me stop sobbing all day today by trying to comfort me even though her little body was weak so selfless on her part, so loyal to their human I have never in my life owned such a wonderful creature...Paris is my rock without my rock I just don't know what I will do... She means more to me than I can put into words... I have 4 others I do understand but I must say there is something to that bond you have with your "heart" kitty its just different. Those of you who know what I am talking about will understand..

How old is she?
Yes, pet insurance does exclude pre existing conditions. Check into it anyway.

Paris is about 5 years old...I am going to go and talk with my vet about this on Monday it can't cost anymore than what her vet bills alone have cost us this year...I think its well worth the cost.
Prayers for your Paris and for you as well!

I'm so sorry to hear that she's still very sick.:( Hopefully you'll be able to make payments to your vet but I know that ER vets want everything paid in full so in the past I've had to use my credit cards and then try to pay them off. Everyone here understands how you can form a very strong bond with an animal so you sure won't get the reponse of "She's only a cat." I've never had children so my furkids really are like my kids to me so I know exactly where you're coming from. Lots more prayers and positive thoughts are being sent Paris's way. Please take care. Well I thought I better post this entire week has had high highs and low lows..She has Pancreatitis.....She is back home now...I can't put her through the car ride and nights away from home anymore. I am going to do my best to keep her comfortable with the local vet..She is back to the not eating stage again....So tomorrow I am going to take her to my vet and have sub q fluids and an anti nausia medication and also an acid reducer for her stomach. And hopefully they can bring her around again...I am just affraid i am prolonging her agony at this point for selffish reasons...I love her more than anything on the planet... They can't just fix her...I just want them to give me my sweet silly talker kitty back. She is the most wonderful animal and I was blessed each and every day with her presents on this planet she doesn't deserve even a minute of any pain and she has been through 2 weeks of none stop agony I just promised her that I won't do that again...Make her ride 2 hours in a car. Not knowing where we are taking her. Sorry to be such a downer but this whole ordeal has taken a lot out of me and much more out of her. She doesn't like me sad and I really do try to stay positive but its getting really hard. We have lost in our life time to many siamese kitties...

I'm so sorry to hear this.:( My Ziggy had a mild form of pancreatitis and luckily she only had to be in the hospital for 24 hours. They gave her fluids, pain meds, antibiotics and later they force fed her and she was able to keep it down so then I brought her home and she was ready to eat on her own. They gave me Hills A/D and you can mix it with water and then put it in a large syringe to force feed Paris if you need to. Ziggy also got vitamin B-12 shots to help to stimulate her appetite and they really worked. They gave her one and then I gave them to her weekly for about 6 weeks or so. I sure hope that she'll start eating again and will be able to gain some weight back. Lots more prayers and positive thoughts are being sent her way. Please take care. (((HUGS)))

Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers. I will call and see if my vet will give me some vitamin B12 shots that might work? She eats but its LOTS of small meals that consist of mainly chicken baby food with a little canned food mixed together when she keeps in down it works good but I am hoping that she eats better...I stopped by the vet today and she gave me injectable form of a antacid that I can give her under the skin so I am not trying to force it down her throat. Cause now that she is no longer on a feeding tube and some what back to normal she fights me like you would not believe on the medication. I have resorted to injectable even though I don't like doing that... but because she is such a little pistol when it comes to medication I am giving her the shots myself(Cut out all the vet visits which stesses her out.) IF this dosen't stop the nausiea then she wants to give her some prednisone to see if that will help with the inflammation at all.... Thanks again to all I hope she can pulls through this cause honestly I NEED her in my life. She melts all my stress away every night from work. Just one glimps from those baby blue eyes make all the stress and strain go away after a long day at work...

I've been told that B12 shots are painful, they sting, but you can inject it directly into the port on the bag of fluids if you're still giving her subQ's.

Well this week I stopped giving her the injections for the antacid and she seems to be doing a little better hasn't thrown up yet?? Its been soooooo good and I have been soooo happy I just pray it isn't short lived...She means so much to me that even a note on here can put it into words...There is just a really special connection to your "heart" kitty...Life would be so terrible without her.
Russian Blue I felt your pain through all of that with Nakita I cried my eyes out!! Her features remind me soooo much of Paris...The eyes, the face, of course Paris is 1/2 Siamese but her momma was russian blue...They are are such wonderful animals... I have 4 others but there is just something about this girl that would make me do ANYTHING for her...Even if I am poor now...Doesn't matter...I have her in my life and nothing else really matters to me... I just wish the same could have been for Nakita I loved her stories on here and I was crushed to hear that she went to the bridge...
Gill- I can't even imagine the pain you must have experienced Paris was in tremendous pain...She was on pain meds for over 2 weeks and spent countless hours at the animal ICU. Being a human and having to deal with that I hope its not reoccuring and you are now well...I pray the same for Paris as well....We know the signs now so we can be on top of it.... Thanks so much for putting us in your thoughts and prayers you are a great group of people and I gain strength in your support thank you, thank you, thank you!!
