...he/she has gone to the Bridge.

There was a house fire yesterday. This was a house I had been looking at, I would have bought it if my divorce was done. It sold 2 weeks ago. The family was out, the house burned down. The cat is missing, someone said they saw it flee the burning home. The dog was not so fortunate. It did not escape and perished. This has struck me really hard and I have major LES for the loss of this dog. Maybe because of my own near miss with fire recently.

Anyway, I thought this dear doggie should have a proper send off. I've lit a candle for him/her.

Farewell dear doggie. You're safe at the Bridge. :(

Bridlewood?

That was horrid...the news said the dog was "unaccounted for". I am so so sorry that it did not survive.

It's a young couple...and they lost everything. The report also said they were driving home, heard about the fire on the news, and nervously laughed and said, "I hope it's not our house." :(

Prayers to all.

Isn't this one of all of our greatest fears? I'm so sorry for the poor doggie and the doggie's family.

Rest in Peace Sweetheart :( Play hard at the bridge :(

Bear, the cat, has been found. I followed a link from the news story, and found this post by the woman's brother. Needless to say, I am not providing a link to it. (Not because of PTrs, but because this is a public forum and anyone can read it).

day started off good yesterday at bsd, had a blast, but then i just got the worst phone call ever yesterday, i didnt even beleive it, my mom called upset unlike ive ever heard " your sisters house is on fire".

heres the link
http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/C...8479/story.html

i cant even beleive it right now, i have such a unreal fear of fire already (3rd degree burns to my arm 3 months ago) that i just couldnt deal with this, i cried all day yesterday.

thank God everyone was alright, and their kid (my nephew ) was at my house all day yesterday, hes just 2. Everyone was out when it happened, apparntly it started as soon as they left, they got a call like a half hour later from the police. I cant understand how it spread sooooo fast, we have a fire station like 2 blocks away so firefighters were litterally there withen minutes. They lost everything they owned, the only thing left was their garage, (which is basically empty, there were no cars in there) and the basement which was just used for storage.

Right now they are staying at her husbands parents house, i have never seen kristina so upset before . Evern avery (their baby) seemed terribly upset yesterday, although we arent going to show him the house, he doesnt need to see it. Their dog is MIA, but their cat, bear somehow, allegedly escaped, either through an open window, or through a door when the firefighters booted it in, were kinda confused. He took off and bolted into the farm that behind their house, but last night we found bear so terrifyed underneath a neighbors deck. He so shooken up we couldnt even approach him, but i think hes good now, i think lucas (kristina's husband) got him. thank God at least we got bear back.

heres some pics i took when i got back down south from uni, theres literrally nothing left.

the fire looks like it started in the back for sure, but its tough to say whether it started in their kitchen or in the top floor. they say they hadnt cooked all day so its still really a mystery as to what started it. But it really doesnt matter to be honest, the house is gone regardless.

good thing they had insurance on the house, thank God, but its still unreal that they lost everything, they had a computer full of wedding and baby pictures and tons of dvds and pictures of avery

i dont think they have even had a chance to go through it yet and salvage what they can.

Whats really unfortunate is that they JUST sold the house 2 weeks ago, paperwork and everything was done, they were moving out in 2 weeks, They were out shopping for tile for their new house .

ill keep it updated as to whats going on, but its just so surreal right now, i havent cried that much in a long time

kristina is devastated, but was soooo happy when my parent spotted bear under the neighbors deck, he was so freaked out that they couldnt even approach him, so i guess they just put out some food and water and left him there overnight. They went back this morn and he was still there and they got him!

Major LES here. I often think about these kinds of things happening. It just breaks my heart.

RIP Doggie

I'm so glad the kitty is safe.
