Dad told to stay away from child after Taser melee
Posted: Friday, April 9, 2010 6:59 am | Updated: 7:00 am, Sat Apr 10, 2010.
A suburban Detroit father accused of using his 2-year-old daughter as a shield against a police Taser has been ordered to stay away from the child and his ex-wife.
Warren district Judge John Chmura on Thursday approved the no-contact order against 27-year-old Joseph Raymond Cox of Belleville after he sent his ex-wife a letter. The couple shares joint custody of the child.
Police say on March 27 Cox used the child to protect himself when officers pointed their Tasers at him outside his ex-wife's home. The child was grabbed by a relative and police did not fire their Tasers.
Defense attorney Leonard Buczkowski tells The Macomb Daily that the allegations are "distorted" and Cox should not be prohibited from seeing his daughter.
An April 22 preliminary exam is scheduled.

This guy is a special breed of *explitive*. I sure hope the child isn't messed up for life because of this.

While the father qualifies as a bleepin idiot, I seriously doubt that a 2 year old will even remember this, let alone be messed up for life.
