Through leaky eyes, I am saddened to write that I just hd my 21 year old baby PTS. She had been sliding downhill for a while, and she looked at me this morning and I knew in her eyes that she was telling me she was tired and ready. I will write more later, just wanted everyone to know.

I'm so very sorry. I know only too well "the look". When it was time, Max's eyes said the same thing. I know it hurts so very much and you think the pain will never subside. Take comfort in knowing that it will get better. We've all been through it and our hearts hurt too..... :(
RIP dear Tabby.

Thank you all for the kinds words. They mean so much, as I know many of you have been through the same thing. What I haven't told anyone here is that I had to leave town for a few days. My 79 year old Mother had a stroke on Saturday, and was scheduled to have emergency surgery on Monday. My 4 sisters and I decided Sunday evening to catch a 7 am flight to Florida to be with her and my Dad. (Her surgery was postponed due to some complications, and she is at home, resting and healing.) My friends were taking care of Tabby while I was gone, but she just detiorated as the days went on. By the time I got home Thursday evening, she was skin and bones from not eating (she was always very petite) having trouble breathing, and could hardly walk. I knew, but selfishly wanted to spend one last night with her curled up in my arms. I tried to get her to eat some tuna, something she never turned away from, but she just wouldn't eat. So this morning, as we laid in bed and "talked", I knew that the time had come. She was asking me to help her. Once at the vet, they were very kind, and it was over in a matter of minutes. The vet assured me that it was nothing that anyone did or didn't do while I was gone, but that she was just tired. In my heart of hearts I know that, but I wonder if I had been here if there was something that could have been done to help her. We went through a lot together. She was my first kitty, truly my heart kitty, and I will love her forever. Tonight will be hard as I try to sleep without her in my arms, purring in my ear.

Your little sweetie will always be w/you. That's quite a long life for a kitty, as my RB Pidgelet would tell you; she lived to be almost 22 and I'm sure she was there to greet your Tabby. Believe me when I say that your vet is right, that there was nothing done or not done that hastened her passing. Our bodies just simply wear out and our furkids are no different. She is now at peace and I pray that you will find some in your heart, too.

You certainly have a very long and well love life Tabitha, and you were so well cared for and loved to last over two decades.
I can only pray that My Three Seniors can be with me for such a long time.
The Found Cat Angels are taking Tabitha to Poco Loco for lunch today for Tacos or a Fajita.:)
Then Tabitha will fly to the Rainbow Bridge bearing food to share with her new friends at the Eternal Angels Companions Army Fly In Movie Night.
That is going to be an adjustment not seeing Tabitha, but the bond between you is so strong that you will sense her when Tabitha visits.
She will start her search fioor a Great Resort or Restauarnt where you will all meet agin.
One Fine Day:love:

I'm so sorry. No matter how long they stay with us, it's always too short a time.

RIP, Tabitha. She had a very fine life, and she'll stay alive in your heart.

You gave your Tabby such a good life, filled with love and joy. She knew total love from you. A better life a human or fur could not ask for, she was ready, secure in your love to go. She will now be with you always in the breeze you feel on a warm day, in a butterfly floating around your head, in an unexpected flower blooming Tabby willl be with you.

I went on Saturday, April 24 to pick up Tabby's ashes and bring her home. When I got there, I was told the bill was paid in full! Of course, I asked how, who, etc., but was told that an anonymous donor had taken care of the bill. Tears began streaming down my face, as I wondered who this angel could be. My questions were answered after a few phone calls to friends, and one of them "confessed" to taking care of it since I was dealing with my Mother's stroke, and had made one trip to Florida, and was leaving the next day for the second one (for Mom's surgery). What a great friend! I am so blessed!

So Tabby is back home with me and Sasha, and her ashes are in a beautiful metal container. I will also place her whiskers (that I have collected for 21 years) in the container. My baby is home.

My boyfriend's beloved Tomas passed almost two years ago. He has his ashed in a little cedar box on the fireplace mantle. Tomas is home with us, and home he will stay. I know how comforting having Tabitha with you will be.
