View Full Version : Um...a "personal" question...

Hi,
I have a "personal" question about Basil...it may sound niave...so you are fair warned...
Let me defend myself first...I'm blond...hee, hee, just kidding...my prior knowledge on this subject is...Noah...he has lots of fluffy hair everywhere so I never even noticed this on him...
This morning Basil was "helping" me put make up on and resigned to bathing himself when I was almost done. I noticed that he got a ton of litter on his paws after he went to the litter box right after jumping in the wet shower. I was making sure that was all that was on his paws when I saw...uh...it? He isn't fixed yet becuase he is still too young...but he has um...a "male organ". Do they have those on the outside? Like dogs do?
I'm sorry to ask such a silly question, these are the first cats I've ever had.
Thank you!

But to answer Basil's Mom's question...
Yep! Just like a Dawg...
Bottom side, back toward the rear end...
Usually well covered by fur.
The other two "parts" are further back, under the tail; and often not descended (almost invisible) in a young kitten.

And to make things even more descriptive: My male kitty has a white underside from tail to chin - except for dark gray markings that very clearly shows the location of his boy parts.... makes it easy to know he's all boy! *ahem*

Not in Basil....they are....uh...there for all to see. It doesn't help that his tail is always up in the air and that "they" are a very light gray in contrast to his grey/black body. Poor little thing...no dignity. (Well, until November 1st when he gets fixed)

A "dab" of Hair Coloring, possibly?
Do they make "boxers" for Kats??

We call that Casper's little pimple... well because not much is there and nothing on his behind. When Casper is washing himself from the private parts, we can see his "pimple" outside.
And it's so funny, Casper is almost completely black, but when he walks, his tail is up and everyone can see his pink butt! :o

Noahsmommy,
Oh, you mean the "winkie" :p . Yup, they sure do. Even after they're fixed. I see Moo's winkie alot more often since he has no fur to hide it  . Imagine having to look at THAT everytime he bathes himself. Fortunately, they can't use it. As much as they think they're Don Juans, it won't work without all the equipment. I wish I could convince my older male Casey of that. He keeps trying to hump Mollie Rose. Boy does she ever get pissed!!! You'd think he's learned by now. But no...

LOL LOL I am so chuckling right now!;) It's funny because a lot of times you won't see the "winkie" because cats actually retract them back up inside. Wierd, huh? I seldom see ...it...on my cats, but the times I do see it are when they are cleaning. I guess they just need to ah...stick it out...for a bath??!!! Then the "winkie" goes back from whence it came....

I will try to ask this question delicately, but when you consider the actual biological function....
Do they have those on the outside
it wouldn't do much good inside would it?????

I'm having an education here!
Couldn' find the word "Winkie", the dictionary suggested me to look for "Winkle" and what I got is:
winkle /{speaker}wI{ng}kl/ noun, verb
noun (BrE) (also periwinkle AmE, BrE) a small shellfish, like a SNAIL, that can be eaten verb (BrE, informal)
PHRASALVERBS
winkle sth/sb<->out (of sth) to get sb/sth out of a place or position, especially when they do not want to leave.
When Iuri was young 1 yrs old or so, was laying on the table while I was rubbing his tummy.I repeat, I was strictly rubbing his tummy, the poor boy should feel confortable because his "Winkie" went out for a fresh air ....and he flushed right against the wall:eek:. It took me good five minutes before I realized what happened!!!!

:o :o :o Well, I'm certainly feeling unobservant. I've actually wondered about the difference between cats and dogs and how being 'retracted' affects toms... :o :o :o
Boxer-shorts for cats ?? Not a bad idea , Niina ! It exists for dogs , so why not for cats   :D

Even after my male cat Sunny was "fixed" (even though it wasn't broken:o) he would try to "romance" the girls. They didn't mind and we just let him alone knowing he was...um....shooting blanks as it were ;)

We need some words for the 2 parts they are wearing outside (as long as the are not "fixed"). :D The winkie is something that works with furboys like with skinboys (but much much smaller).
And regarding furboys the telescope system works also when they are "fixed.;)

Hehe :) You are all too funny :)
I think what you are reffering to, Noah's Mom, is what I call "Lipstick" in dogs. I don't know if a kitties' "winkle" resembles a doggies' "lipstick", but it sounds like it's pretty similar, but on a ...ahem.....smaller scale?

Cotton balls and olivettes - OK!
I think if our cats could, they'd log in and post a poll:
Do your owners embarrass you by:
a) talking about our "winkies"
b) give funny names to our velvety bits
c) tell the world about the scent of our feet
d) oh no, all of the above
:)
