Actually, it's the only thing he came to after being home with me for 2 weeks. I tried several names and he just ignored all of them.

One night, I was watching Star Trek: Voyager and some one said "Seven of Nine" and his ears shot up. It took me a little while to figure out what he was reacting to and finally, I walked out of the room and said "Seven" and he came to me.

That's pretty much how he got his name.

What an amazing story about Seven! I don't know what part I like the best, it was all great, just like I'm sure he is!
But I must say I, like everyone else just love his ears & expecially those soulful eyes, they are so deep.
You were both lucky to have found each other on that cold winter day:D
I can't imagine you'd be happier with any other dog, I know I sure wouldn't! He sounds like such a smart guy!
Anyway, I hope you both have a wonderful day & do something special together! Congrats again Seven!

We meet some unique and talented dogs here at Dog of the Day, but Seven you are even outstanding among the best and the brightest. Words simply elude me to describe how very impressive you are. WOW seems to say it best. Of course I am hopelessly in love with Seven and I kind of have the feeling that this happens quite often. Please tell this precious creature that there is a line forming....those of us who want to bestow hugs and kisses and spend time with the gorgeous, super talented Dog of the Day, Seven!

Seven,what a spectacular story and with a happy ending to boot! My personal opinion is that you are shepherd/husky mixed. Having two huskies myself, you have the same almond shaped amber eyes and the light color nose that are traits of huskies (not all of em have the blue eyes). The fact that you love to RUN, are very pack oriented and love to be included in everything are all husky traits. Those ears are too cute...definitely shepherd-like and we know how protective and loyal shepherds are! Well, I wish you a long and happy life with your forever home. Isn't that what all animals deserve?!

Very cool. I'm glad I stumbled upon this board. It's nice to see that other people with pets care about theirs as much as I do Sev. Some people around here just don't get it.

It's refreshing to see people who see their dogs as more than just accessories. I can't imagine not having him around.

MY SISTER AND I HAVE 3 CATS SPOILED ROTTEN. THEIR ARE KIDS. YOU NAME IT THEY HAVE IN TOYS , CAT FRINITURE AND TREATS. 2 TREEFROGS ,3 LEOPARD GECKOS,2 BOX TURTLES,2 CORN SNAKES AND 3 HERMIT CRABS.
AND THEY ALL OUR FAMILY AND TREATED LIKE THEY LIVE IN A 5 STAR HOTEL.
I HAD 2 GOLDEN REITERVERS. ONE LIVED TO BE 15 1/2 YEARS OLD AND THE
OTHER ONE ONE ALMOST 10 BUT TO MANY HEALTH PROBLEMS.
I KNOW 7 HAS A SUPER HOME BECAUSE YOU SOUND LIKE A SUPER PERSON.

Hi! I may be mistaken, but I could SWEAR I've met you Seven!!!! My friend's GR is named Seven, so I was totally surprised to hear the name. Do you live in Montgomery County?? I dashed in and out if the vet's one day to get food and vitamins, but always try to acknowledge the dogs, but since this was over a month ago, I DO remeber commenting on a luscious white dog. Of course you would think I'd remember that handsome face exactly esp. the ears, but I'm not known for my fantastic memory !!! :rolleyes: :D ;) As you can see, I live in Glenside. You may email your answer if you want......the curiosity is gonna just KILL me!

Anyway, I too, just LOVED your touching story, Seven! You are the very best of great breeds. Very loving, forgiving, protective and cuddly. I hope I do see you again (if it was you!) You'll know ME cause I'll greet yiou with open, loving arms and oodles of kisses!!! Congratuations, Seven, you are a very very special dog!

Sev and I live in West Chester, actually. We get around a lot, so if you saw a good looking guy (:p ) in a red Subaru with the dog, that was me.

I have friends all over PA, but the only vet that he goes to is the West Chester Animal Hospital.

If you're ever in the area, ask around for Marshall Sq., Hoopes, or Everheart parks. You'll find us there most days after work.

Seven you are a smart and handsome dog with a doggie dad who loves you very much. I am impressed that you learned to wait before crossing the street. My friend taught her thoroughbred horse to do that too and its a good thing because one day he did get out and was running for the road. She was chasing after him (it is hard to keep up with an ex-racehorse) and was so afraid he would get hit by a car or truck and would you believe it he stopped at the edge of the road and waited for her! So I am very impressed with how smart you are Seven and I hope you and your dad do something special for your big day as today's Dog of the Day!:)
