Well, the heading says it all.

For the last month or so, she's been peeing and drinking up a storm. Sometimes waking me 3-4x in the middle of the night. She's been through urine and blood tests and they were inconclusive.

I brought her to the vet on Monday for a conjuntivitis type, red glob on her inner left eye. It doesn't seem to bother her, but the vet was a bit concerned. I'm treating her with eye drops and it looks better, but she's scheduled for surgery on Wednesday.

I reinerated the peeing and, being another vet, and a second opinion, she seemed worried. More urine and blood has been taken and samples will sent to a lab for diagnosis.

Mz Klo's been acting normally, eating, playing and as happy as can be.

*Sigh*. Pettalk prayers are welcomed! I don't care if I go broke, I will pay whatever I have to in order to help her survive.

Well this is NOT what I expected for dear Miz Logan! Cyber hugs to you, belly rubs for her, please.

And do let us know the lab results when they come back.

Thanks a lot for the reference! I made copies of it to show the vet. Maybe that's why she's getting so many "eye" infections.

The vet called me today and said that Mizzy Logan's bloodwork looks totally normal, except for one enzyme which is a "13". Anything higher than 13 can mean the start of Cushings. Sorry, the scientific names of this stuff escapes me. Anyway, since Klo is borderline, she won't start treating her with meds for Cushings, but will keep up with urine and blood work. Meantime, she'll prescribe antibiotics, as she MAY have a bladder infection.

So, for right now, it's a huge *WHEW* from me. Logan didn't have any of the other symptoms. But, as I said before, I'll sell my house if I have to, really. She's my babydoll.

Because I have a conflicting surgeon's appointment next Wednesday, I postponed her eye surgery until March 31, That's my dad's birthday so I'm sure she'll be fine.

I'll also discuss an ultrasound while she's under so the docs can check her adrenal glands.

Sounds like a plan.:) Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon, so no
more midnight potty runs. Stay healthy miss Klo.:)

Here's an update.

Logan's been on an antibiotic since last week. She's still drinking a lot but her nightly wake-me-ups have reduced to 1 or 2. She doesn't seen herself. I know we've been gone a lot during the day, but that never affected her..she gets the big bed all day. She did pee once by the inside back door, which was a first ever. She seems listless somehow. She'll still runs after critters and patrols the yard.

Problem....Tuesday night (tomorrow), she has to fast after midnight. She's having her eye surgery on Wednesday. I just don't know how I'm going to ignore her request for water at night. I'm going to ask for an Xray or MRI also on her adrenelan and pituitary gland to check for the Cushings.

She's always been so healthy. It feels like she's not herself so quickly. Too bad she hates the camera so much. I wish I could post constant pictures of her. She really is a darling.

Be sure to keep the bathroom door closed and/or toilet lid down. I had to remove Louie's water last week and woke up in the night to hear him having a good slurp from the toilet. Something he had never done before.
Good luck with the eye surgery.

I'm sorry to hear Logan hasn't been feeling herself. Hope its not cushings and she'll be back to her old self soon.

Well, Logan has a small eyelid growth removed from her right lower eyelid and a conjunctival growth from her left lower lid. That growth has been sent for a biopsy and I'll know if all is OK in about a week.

She's scheduled for a low dose dexamethasone test next week to check if she has Cushings. I bring her in at 9a for bloodwork, take her home, bring her back 4 hours later and repeat 4 hours later. I chose this method rather than keep her in a cage for 8 hours.

Yesterday night (Tuesday) was murder. Just as I feared, Mz. L kept us awake from 1a to 7a, whining, barking, "talking", pacing, panting for water. It was the worse night of our lives. Nothing we did calmed her. I didn't want to close the door on her. I felt so bad although it was necessary. It's so hard to explain to a dog that she has to fast!

She's still groggy, She has 1 stitch on her eye and it doesn't seem to bother her. I took of the "lamp shade". She has no appetite yet. I know she'll be herself by tomorrow, but you all know that it's just pathetic to see our babies out of sorts. "Sigh".

Thanks for for good thoughts. I'm still nervous about the Cushings, but I will deal with it any way I have to in order to extend her life.

I took off the "lamp shade".

You might want to re-think the No Lamp Shade for the overnight periods!
As the drugs wear off, the eyes might start to *itch*!

And eyes are VERY easy to *rub* with a front paw!
I doubt you'll hear her say
"MOM, I'm gonna *rub* the crap outta my eye fur a while; Izzat OK?"

Better to just put up with a Pouty Dawg IN the Lampy Shade!
