2nd Annual Mid Atlantic PT Gathering

At Pinot's Place :)

We'll be Barbecuing and generally having a good time! Everyone is welcome, so please make plans to come. We have room to stay here for those that need it, and plenty of it! Anyone needing further information, please let me know, a more detailed invite will come closer to the event. We had a great time last year and we'd like to see more of y'all! :)

I don't know.. I thought I had a pet-sitting gig that day, but that has been cancelled, so I could theoretically take the time.

Money is very tight, though.. Some $400 in vet bills for my Sydney cat last week who I was afraid might be on death's door (doesn't seem to be after all, thank God!!!, but I still have these bills coming), and my car's 60K maintenance plus timing-belt replacement ($1000+) is later this week.

I'll see if I can somehow pull it together.. Sounds like it would be great fun, as well as a chance to meet several PetTalkers in person (and in Pinot's case, anyway, in purrson) for the first time.

I'd be driving from Ann Arbor (MI) to Chez Pinot. Ann Arbor is about 50 miles north of Toledo and I-80 or whatever. I've never made that particular trip before, so if anyone has any idea how long it might take or of any shortcuts, please let me know.

No. We're going to Virginia the 2nd week of June for our grandson's high school graduation.

This is the one who received recruiting letters from Harvard and Cornell. He'll be going to a small Catholic university near Pittsburgh with a full academic scholarship :) And he'll be playing Lacrosse.

Hmmmmmm.... I'm not working this summer, so I have the whole of it to myself (well, Dave included of course). I think I'll be able to make it. Not sure about Dave and his work schedule, but definitely me!!!

I'll make anything you need. Cake? Apps?? Side dish??? Booze???? (I make some good home made Bailey's!).

I think we're up to 12 or 13 if all who've responded can make it! Anyone who needs further information, PM me - I figured we'd start the festivities around 2pm, start BBQing after everyone gets here.

We will provide the main dish (ie-stuff for the grill!) and beverages with some snacks. Please let me know what you would like to bring any category is fine - sides, desserts, snacks, and always booze is welcome ;). So far I have a four bean salad and chocolate chip cookies spoken for. I'm afraid I won't be able to do it this year.. Vet bill is almost $500 and car bill is almost $1200.. Do you think you might be doing this again next year?

Final head count should be 11. Ellie is, at this point, out-unfortunately. :(

So far I know of 2 side dishes (one bean salad, and the rice salad Laurie's bringing) and one dessert. We will be putting the main dishes out (is anyone vegetarian-forgot to ask!) and snacks. I'm sure there will be plenty to eat! Last year we had an insane amount of food! Just let me know if you decide on anything. See you soon! :)

Yesterday was so much fun, after finally getting there, lol. I just have to remember to NOT do things during the night after I take my lunesta, or the next day may have serious consequences, lol. at least the beans turned out really well, lol.

It was so great meeting everyone. Maggie, you're house is just breath taking!! It was a gorgeous ride down, and your area is just so beautiful! It was great to finally meet Pinot in person (glad she liked the mousey!). I can't wait for meet up again next year!

it was jsut my drink and it was kind of a ... misunderstanding or miscommunication lol

I was pouring myself a screw driver. I was pouring the vodka and Pinot's mom asked if I wanted some ice. I said SURE but in my head I was picturing just a few pieces of ice so I added a little more vodka. Pinot's mom then filled my glass 3/4 full with ice... which then made it so that it was ALSO 3/4 full with vodka LOL> so I had a screwdriver that was 3/4 vodka to 1/4 orange juice.

I warned her that I may just end up dancing on the tables after that drink :D it was quite the drink lol good thing I have a decent alcohol tolerance so there wasn't any table dancing or other unsavory activities on my part
