Great Dane in the need of a home, Ohio-Done!

This is the hardest post I have ever had to write, through my tears I will do my best at finishing it. Trinity our female Great Dane is the love of my life, I can't imagine living without her. Trinity and our male Dane Griffin have gotten into fights twice in the last six months and they got into a fight again. We have consulted an animal behaviorist, tried Prozac, tethering and everything we can do to keep them at bay and we have failed. Trinity is a wonderful dog and we LOVE her to pieces, but she just needs to be in a single dog home. She is not people aggressive and our vet said that she would work out great for someone that didn't have any other dogs. I always told myself I could do everything in my power and never re-home any of our dogs under any circumstances, but this is just not fair to Griffin or our other two dogs. My biggest fear is not finding a home that will spoil her and give her the love that she needs. She is like a kid to me and that will never change. I have written some information below all about her.

My vet said that he would be happy to be a reference to anyone that is interested in taking her. He has known her since we got her at 8 weeks old. She just turned 4 on November 6th. Trinity Lady Love, was born 11-06-2005.She's a female, blue great Dane, registered AKC, approx 30" tall and 134 lbs. She has a slightly dialated heart of which she is on medication (approx $20 a month) I also get a EKG ran once a year (approx $75) to check for progression. We have two other dogs in the house and she is fine with the other two, but only has a problem with one. We have taken her to dog parks and she has acted fine. The aggression only happens within her own territory, and with Griffin. She is not people aggressive and not known to be child- aggressive. If you are looking for a pup-kid and just one to spoil to pieces and that will give you endless love in return, she will be perfect for you. It is not fair for her or Griffin to keep her in the situation she is in.

The home has to be indoors and no other dogs, they have to promise me that they will give her her heart medication and follow up on heart. She is also on Proin (approx. $20 a mo.) that eliminates a very slight incontinence issue due to being spayed at 6 mo. of age. By taking Proin it completely resolves this condition. We also have been giving her glucosamine/chondroitin and fish oil vitamins every day (to keep her healthy). I would appreciate if they could continue that as well. She is currently eating Purina One dog food and does very well on that. If you know of anyone that would give her a loving forever home please contact me. We will be happy to give our vet references that will tell you anything you need to know about her behavior, health, or any other questions. We just want her in the home that she deserves, it's not fair for her to continue on this track in her life. Here is a photo album of our precious little girl:

Thanks hun. I pray and hope she does. I just can't imagine parting from her after four years, but I know it's in her best interest as well as our other pups. It just breaks my heart, we love her to pieces.

Everything went GREAT! Trinity even gave her a big smooch on the nose. I was so happy to see them hit if off. Such is the case here.

I'm not sure if an Architect will be required to design the accommodations

a simple re-paint will do ... the Decorating Committee is still holding meetings.

Tom and I just moved from the apartment in downtown Findlay to a house in McComb (just a bit further drive to the dog park). We are very excited about the extra lot we have out back and are looking forward to laying in the grass next to Trinity and enjoying the day.

Took a day off work this week and had a girls day out with just me, Trinity, and my Mom. We had a blast. I am spending every last waking moment with our baby girl until she joins Mommy Carrie in her wonderful home with Daddy Tom and two adorable kitty siblings. Her bag is packed and ready for tomorrow.

Wow, just saw the clock. We're going to have to go to bed soon, so we can wake up and be ready for the arrival of Trinity. Heidi and Jason have to get up even earlier for the drive here.

I'm hoping the rain will somehow hold off long enough so we can walk outside and and show Heidi and Jason the yard. Haven't had much time to actually work on it since we bought the house, but it is (in my mind) Great Dane size and has lots of potential. Trinity will have fun hanging outside with us while we work.

Trinity has had a wonderful first day and we are hopeful that they will only continue to get better each day .

The felines are now acting exactly as they acted before Trinity walked in the door. (I knew it wouldn't take them long to remember how much they love Great Danes :) )

Poor baby Trinity was so nervous with the changes that she completely missed her nap today. But I am happy to report she is currently on the couch with Tom, head facing him (Tom's arm on her nape) and snoring away.

It was so terribly hard for us to say goodbye to our baby girl Trinity, but when we arrived to Carrie's she remembered Tom and Carrie right away and I was so happy. She walked right into their house and start venturing around. We got to see the wonderful HUGE back yard and Trinity made herself home on the couch right away. I was so happy to see her adapting so quickly. Mine and Jason's hearts were tore in two when we had to say our goodbyes, but knowing she is in such a wonderful home means more to us than we can ever express.

When I got the call last night from Carrie with a good report for her first day I was so pleased. Carrie hunny, thank you for being such and angel and please give Trinity lots of kisses from us. We love you three.

I talked to Carrie last night. Trinity is doing very well. She's adapting to going to work with Carrie and her own office. :) She went fishing with Tom the other day and saw her first fish and was very excited. Carrie said that Tom and Trinity will be doing allot of fishing this summer. Sounds like Trinity has taken over their love seat in the living room and Trinity and the cats are getting along great. Carrie said that in the move she lost her camera battery so she is looking for it to catch some pics of the new family.

Carrie and Tom are such sweathearts, they give me updates all the time and pass on smooches when I mention to them I miss her terribly. Sounds like Trinity, Tom, Carrie, China, and Turtle are a perfect match. We are just so happy we found her such a wonderful loving home. Thanks again Phred!!!! :love:
