Ok so we took him to the vet today because i am a little worried about a couple of his teeth and also the fact that with his age he wont be able to fight it off......well the vet told us today that he is going to need to have 4 of his teeth pulled:eek:...but i know for sure that he needs to have 2 done right now.....well the thing is that they all want money up front and well the estimates that i got so far range from $300-$1500 and i just dont know what to do....they gave us some antibacterial but that is only going to last so long.....im scared because my fiance' has had him since he was 8 wks old and his days are coming but i want him to pass on something that could have been prevented.....if you can help me or say anything that would help me please do.....

here are some pictures of the old man

Up to $1500 to pull a few teeth???

I would have to do some shopping around for a vet that would do it cheaper.

Here's hoping Dozer feels better soon!

Check if there is a vet school near you.

Check if there is a not for profit vet near you.

I found a not for profit about 35 miles away. Not worth the trip in all cases, but for a non emergency, big expense item? Oh yeah. I've used him for spay / neuters and so on. Turns out, he used to be in DC and delivered Millie's puppies when she was the Clinton White House dog!

I found the not for profit one either from craigslist or from asking a feral cat rescue group, I can't remember which, now. But both are good sources for low cost vetting.
