I got a call from my friend Clare's daughter. She said Clare fell, hit her head and died.:(:( This woman was 97 years old and didn't look a day over 70. She had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off her back. Not to mention the skin like a baby's behind.
Bonnie told me she has a problem because of Clare's two kitties. They're old (17 and 16). I IMMEDIATELY told her they are now mine (am I outta my mind or what????). Wanna know why they are now mine? Because they are Mollie Rose's sister and Mama!!!!!
Bonnie said she is SO relieved, because she couldn't take them. She runs a bed and breakfast and they can't go out.
She told me she'd make arrangements for someone to meet me after Clare's services.
She was one hell of a lady and I loved her dearly. And I thought this year would be better.:( Right.

I am so sorry for your loss. But am so glad you can give these two lost souls a loving home after losing their most charished person.

But I can bet that Clare would approve of both the way she "went" - quickly, not a lot of suffering, and that her two kitties would live out their days with you, who already love them.
Blessings come in strange ways sometimes. I hope your current kitties accept these two ladies graciously.

I am so relieved that they will be with me and I will still have Mollie's bloodline. I made a mistake in their ages (my mind hasn't exactly been all there). The 17 year old is Miss Barn Kitty (Mollie's mama) and the 16 year old, Freckles, is Mollie's sister.
I am blubbering like an idiot and can't stop. This has got to be THE worst birthday EVER!!!!! I want to sleep through it but can't sleep.

Seems like MooShoo might have had a paw in this, as tragic as it may be. He's sending you a birthday gift to brighten your spirit. See - he's still with you and taking care of his Meowmie.

My daughter pissed me off ROYALLY!!! When I called her to tell her about Clare and about the cats, her remark was "You don't need anymore damn cats!" I told her, "I'm doing it, I'm the Mother, so deal with it!!" Then I hung up. I'm tired of explaining myself to this kid. She forgets who the mother is in this scenario.

Donna - I am so amazed at you thinking nothing of taking those dear cats in, in spite of your horrible loss of Moo, and then of your dear friend Clare.
My prayer is that in a year from now, you can get some peace from looking at Mollie Rose's mom and sister, and that they will be a wonderful gift to you.

Donna, it's true that your friend would most likely have wanted to go like she did - and taking her cats is simply meant to be. Like you say, you have a little bit of Molly Rose. :)
I'm so sorry for your loss of your heart kitty, Mooshoo. :)
Things WILL get better!

Bonnie said she was sure her mom would be relieved that the cats would be with me. I'm glad they have such faith in me.
Hey, what's another poop in the box, right???

I'm so sorry, Donna, to read about yet another loss for you. You've really been walloped with them lately. More big hugs.
That is wonderful that you will have her kitties (family members of yours already!) to look after. Surely MooShoo had a paw in this..
And good for you telling your daughter off the way you did!

First of all, I'm so sorry you have lost a dear friend.:( It's a heartbreaking loss for you and I know your heart is sad.
But what a loving tribute to your dear friend to willingly and happily accept these two senior ladies into your home. We should all be such good friends to those we love and care about.
Bless you, Donna.

You are such a wonderful and compassionate person to be doing this. Those two kitties are very lucky you are there for them altho it is sad they lost their mommy.

I read your post, Donna, and began to laugh and cry at the same time. It's horribly tragic that you had to experience yet another loss of a dear friend, but you didn't even think a second about taking in Mollie Rose's momma and sister.
I do hope the bad days are coming to an end for you and you can move on to happier times. I do believe MooShoo got to the bridge, had a chat with Miss Mollie Rose once Clare passed and knew this would be the best possible thing for the kitties and you.

Sorry about everything being so rotten for your birthday this year Moosmom. That being said I think Ellie's right about this being a gift from Mooshoo.
I think you're a most caring, selfless kindhearted lady and my hat is off to you for taking these two homeless cats in.
As for your daughter's comment , you said it all.

Donna, tell her to ZIP IT!! What you do is no concern to her. You're giving a very good home to a couple of very sweet kitties who would otherwise have none. I'm positive that Mooshoo has his sweet paw in this!

I recently saw a lady with a t-shirt that said: "I'M THE MOM.. THAT'S WHY!"
That's all you moms need to remember.. got that?!
In other words, WELL DONE, Donna!

Moosmom, I'm so sorry all this is happening on your birthday. I really am. I think you're doing a great thing for Clare by taking her kitties for her, a great way to keep her memory alive. :D

I'm so sorry to hear of your friend and bless you for taking in her cats
Your daughter just loves you and is worried about you taking on more lives and more mouths to feed. Please don't be too harsh with her. It's not anger or hatred that is motivating her. it's just concern for you. she loves you.

Donna I'm so sorry for yet another lose. This has got to stop! Join me in celebrating Chinese New Year as the offical start of the New Year with all bad things left behind. It's the year of the Tiger after all!
Thank you for looking beyond your grief and taking in those two lost kitties. I'm sure they are missing their Meowmie as you are missing your Mooshoo.
