OMG She sounds so awful! She's all congested and coughing/sneezing. I know the antibiotics can take a day or two to kick in, but she's miserable! What can I do to make her more comfortable? Poor baby!

Aww! You and her in the bathroom, shut the door and run the shower really hot. The steam should help.
If she sleeps with you, can you run a vaporizer with some Vicks or tea tree oil in it, bedroom door closed?
Poor wittle girl! I hope she is better soon!

Yup, I got the place all nice & steamy - boiling water in the kitchen and running a hot bath in the bathtub and letting the steam heat blast away. She's settled down a bit now - I think she's just glad that meowmie is home - I feel awful leaving her all alone to go to work when she's sicky like this - very glad to have a three-day weekend coming up to spend time coddling her.

I'm sorry to hear that she's still so sick.:( Hopefully the medicine will kick in soon and start making her feel better. In the past I've done the bathroom steam thing and also the vaporizer. I never really noticed much difference though because my cats became stressed out in the bathroom and wouldn't go near the vaporizer. If she ends up getting worse during the long weekend then you can always call an ER vet clinic for advice. I'll send some prayers and positive thoughts her way. Please take care keep us updated about her.

Poor Marbles! I can't remember my kitties ever having a cold. I hope she gets better, and I am so glad you will be with her this 3 day weekend. Keep us posted!

Aw, poor little kittle. If you can manage it, you can squirt some poor saline solution in her nose. I did this for Pidge once per my vet's instructions and it does help but they become squirmy worms when anything is squirted in their little noses.

She's a squirmer! Sneezing a lot, eyes are a teeny bit better. Wish I didn't have to go to work so I could stay home and nurse her

If you have any chlorpheniramine tablets (JUST chlorpheniramine, not mixed with anything else) you can grind up a little piece of one (say 1/6 of a 4 mg tab), dissolve in water, mush into a bit of stinky wet food, and offer her that. It's been proven safe for cats.

Gold seal nose drops(you have to make them yourself)open up the sinuses and reduce the swelling of the membranes. Also, if Marbles cannot smell her food, chicken baby food may entice her to eat. I used the vaporizer, too, and found it helpful. Poor little girl!!! GET WELL SOON!!!!

Have any of you actually had success trying to give a kitty nose drops or spray? LOL - what a squirmy little worm - I got more saline on me than in her nose.
She turned her nose up at warm chicken broth, ate the tuna and sneezed a lot yesterday; she's MUCH better today. Eyes still a bit leaky, but sneezing less and looks perkier.
I tried to give her some GOOD food - So now Felidae and Evo are (again) on the do-not-buy list. Mitzi didn't like those either. Does anyone's cat like the pate style food? None of my cats have ever liked that stuff.

She did nibble at the chicken baby food the other night. I can't say she was wild about it, but she did lick it from the spoon.

My cats will never and have never, eaten the good, healthy stuff. You'd think Evo was acid the way they avoid it. Wellness, also. The only thing they will eat is Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys and Purina One. Oh well, they are both healthy and rambunctious at the present time, so it works for them. Mac is around 13 years old and plays like a kitten. So maybe there is some good stuff in Fancy Feast after all! I wouldn't worry so much. My bf bought his RB kitty, Tomas, any old food. I mean he even go 99Cent Store bargains. He lived to be 22.

I think all cats like Fancy Feast - it's like McDonald's for kitties! I did pick up some Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul - kitten formula wet food that she seems to like and some Wellness dry for kittens. We'll go slow with introducing new foods. She IS a lot perkier today - playing a bit with her toys; I bought her more of course! That's the fun of a new kitteh - I'm spoiling her!

I tried to nose sprays with Ralph and Norton. It took an army to administer them!

Just a thought ... what if you microwave it for a few seconds? Cassie looooooves chicken baby food as a treat and she is such a diva that she won't eat it unless I zonk it for about 5-7 seconds (a tablespoon of baby food).
I am so glad to read that her cold is better today!

I'm so glad to hear that Marbles is improving.:) Hopefully in a few days she'll be back to normal. Yes, giving cats nose drops is very hard. Hopefully she'll like some of the new foods that you bought for her. Sometimes the antibiotics make cats not want to eat very much so maybe when she's finally finished with them she'll eat better. I'm still sending some prayers and positive thoughts her way. I'd love to see some new pictures of her.;)

Right now she's a little miss cranky pants and completely ignoring me. I think it's because she's feeling so awful - I'm unable to get any good pics.
I'm hoping it's because she's sick - I've even got a note into the cat psychic to see what the little dear has on her mind. I'm feeling unloved by the little one right now, but it's probably because I'm the meany who keeps putting this pink stuff into her.

I think we learned in nursing school, that when the patient is " cranky " they are starting to feel better!!! Well, that is what Barry tells me whenever I am getting over a cold!!! Feel better soon, sweetheart!!!

She is sneezing like crazy! Although not coughing as much AND she jumped into the box when I went to set up the new HEPA air filter - YAY! She's a box kitteh! She has minimal fear of the vacuum cleaner - doesn't like the noise but is curious as to what it is. She hasn't discovered under the bed yet that I know of, so she doesn't run and hide there.
Her favorite hidey hole is an old, small cat carrier that is set up in a corner next to the heater - she's been sleeping there a lot during her sickness. I'm just letting her heal and come out of her shell on her time-schedule. She likes to sleep on me - my back, my shoulder, my stomach. Last night she was sleeping on my chest and patting my lips with her little pawsies.
She's a funny one :)

She's B A C K! I once again have a flying fluffy, exploring and getting into things and places she shouldn't go. I had to kitten proof my big clock because if that came crashing down on her, it would kill her. She's trying to climb the curtains too and likes to sit in windows. I don't want the neighbors to know I have I kitten, but she doesn't understand - it's all just SO interesting and new. Uh oh. Now I have to go to work .... hope the place is intact when I get home :D

I haz Cuckoo Kitteh! OMG it's been eons since I've had a kitten, or as a girlfriend used to call hers when they were little, kittoons (a take on cartoon). Marbles is much healthier now, although she still gets little sneezing fits that tamper her zoominess.
This morning it was get into the box spring time. She found the hole that Mitzi had made, but could not get out. Mom had to cut out the box spring liner and now she has a new place to play and hide. She knocked over the Salt lamp, attempted to climb the palm, attempted to climb my butcher's block in the kitchen, found the top rung of the ladder in the hallway, attempted to climb the bedroom curtains. It's only a matter of time before these unsuccessful attempts are successful. Heaven help me! Pictures you say? I was just trying to keep her from destroying stuff or hurting herself! Pictures were the last thing on my mind!

Vet appointment in half an hour - let's see how much Ms. Marbles has put on - she's been eating up a storm and I can tell she's grown! Also has to get her second round of kitten shots - I'm sure she won't like that part.

I have 6 lbs. of Marbles now :D She's growing and very healthy. She got to meet the GOOD vet today - they didn't want to give her back - she was SUCH a good girl!
Got her last kitten shot and they did the FIV test. Just hope she's negative; we'll get the results on Monday.
