Waboose? Where did you get that name? I'm so glad you were rescued and your tooth taken out; how painful that must have been. You take care of your family, ok? Super COTD tidings to Waboose! A curious name I would love to know the background behind, after our own collection of names like Smudgey, Smookie, Bubby, Goober, Dumas, Stinky, Pit-Kitten and a host of others.

We have a parallel partner to Waboose, also a male tabby found with a badly broken jaw and starving. He gained strength on soft food (lick, lick!) and our vet did what he could to ease his jaw but postponed surgery because he had a very slight FelV indication. He is on a four month regimen of anti-virals, pro-immune system builders and prayers that his backup test Feb. 7 will be negative. He is BIG, STRONG and very healthy looking now and has the appearance and activity of a bobcat hybrid athough we cannot be sure.

Waboose, oh, great pretty boy, enjoy your special day!!!!

Waboose, you lead the kind of life that I wish all cats could, that of roaming 80 acres and coming indoors when the weather gets a little dicey. Such a handsome boy, too. I'm sorry about your jaw issue but your human was sure to see to it that you were all taken care of and now you're pain free. Good job, human! Waboose, enjoy your day as COTD! :)

Hello, Waboose you wonderful feline:love: I had a cat who would not use the litter box - but that was OK because he would use the front yard. Even during a huricane he cried to use the yard. Right after, he would RUN back into the house. I can just see (in my mind's eye) you doing the same thing in the cold. Enjoy your special day. Purrs

One great thing about coming on Cat Of The Day is seeing another Lucky Cat who was taken from dire circumstances and given a second chance and now is a Happy Cat Companion with a family that loves and cherishes him.
And what a Handsome Cat you are Waboose Cannonball , and you still have a straek of independance, you love your family, but you still have the call of the wild in your veins and you have to explore your homestead of 80 acres!!

Thats a fair peace of territory , and we bet that many Cats would love to have that much land to run and play in.
Even My Found Cats when they realize how much area that is with trees look at the Hotel a bit less fondly,

Last night I looked at COTD and my mind said, "Wo! What a good looking cat!" So far, half the cats of January have been gray tabbies, and all look different and beautiful.
