I have a rather strange question. My little girl will sit in the living room when the TV is on and no matter what is on she doesn't seem bothered. There can be guns going off, loud music, and flashing lights. She just sits there as if she is the Queen of he domain (which she is).

Here is my question....Why is it that every single time I turn on the stereo (even if the volume is very low) she runs for the closet and stays there until I turn it off? I have never played it very loud as I live in a condo and have people living above, behind and on each side of me. I don't like to disturb others. I do love my music but I don't want her to feel that she has to hide each time I turn it on.

Am I missing something?

Thanks...

:) Welcome to PT & enjoy.. I would say its the vibration of the stereo music.. Cats detect ultrasound levels from octaves.. The TV does not give off vibration levels..

I have a very similar theory - that the stereo itself, rather than the music you're playing on it, makes a sound that only she can hear, and she doesn't like. Some component of it generates a frequency that she finds disturbing, but is outside of human hearing range.
