I also saw this ad on Craiglist. Anyone interested I'd be glad to transport.

This cat has been hanging out at my back basement door for at least a few days now. I'm not sure how long because I've been away. It does not look well and I don't have a place to bring it inside so please, if this is your cat or you can rescue, contact me ASAP.

Here is what I just sent this person about the found cat:
I would take it to a vet. I can't take in another cat because I already have too many and I have one that is sick right now and I don't know how I'm going to afford it's vet care because my husband isn't working right now but I would contact Paws they can give you at least $50 to take this cat to the vets to get a check up.

Emergency Medical Aid
In this program, PAWS provides payment for emergency treatment of severely injured animals. The harsh reality of budget restrictions has forced PAWS to limit this service to "rescued" animals only. We cannot extend this service to currently owned animals. If you are currently in an emergency situation with a stray, please take the animal to the nearest veterinarian immediately. If you need our assistance in paying for treatment, please call PAWS at (814) 237-8722 and leave a message. Please include your name, the date, your phone number and the name of the veterinary practice that treated the animal.
I understand if you don't have a place to put the cat but if you could at least take it in and put it in your bathroom please do so. I did cross post this and hopefully someone will want to take this cat but with the cat being outside it would be hard to tell when the cat would come around again.
Did you set out any food for the cat?? Is it friendly?
Centre County PAWS has pet food available to members of the community in need of a little help during tough times. We will provide pet food, treats too, to anyone who needs it provided we have some in stock. There is no charge and no paperwork. We often have non-clumping cat litter available too. Feel free to stop by PAWS at 1401 Trout Road, State College and ask a front desk volunteer to assist you.
I wish I could be of more help.
Melissa
(I'll let you all know if I hear anything).

Hi Melissa.
Thanks for responding.
PAWS said they were so full up with cats and that the waiting list was a few months.
A friend of mine has agreed to take it in and get it healthy until a home can be found. That is if I can catch the cat. I tried last night and got some scratches when trying to put him in the crate. He got away. I am glad that the old winter coat I put out for him seems to be doing a good job keeping him warm. When I petted him for the first time his fur felt warm.
Yes, I've been feeding him for about 3 days now and there is a creek 40 feet away where he can get water.
I will try again today.
Thanks for the advice and info.
Chris
FYI: I just fed him and he is looking much better today.

Hi Chris-
Thanks for doing all you can. Please keep in mind that if your friend calls paws they can give that $50 towards a vet check. At least to get the cat FIV/FELV combo tested.
If your friend has other pets I would keep the cat away from this new cat till she/he gets the cat combo tested.
If you need to borrow a cat trap let me know, I know of a person who has one that I could borrow.
Thank you for all you are doing for this cat.
Melissa
Hi Melissa.
Thanks. I have a friend with a cat trap too. I may need it if I can't catch him myself soon. His eyes seemed more wide open today - almost content. He knows I am helping him out I'm pretty sure. I'll make sure she knows about the PAWS help with the vet. She has 2 cats & a dog and like many of us not wealthy.

Melissa,
I just wanted to let you know that the cat, a male, is inside my friends apt. sitting in her lap and purring loud happy purrs. She will make sure he gets healthy and find him a loving home if she doesn't end up keeping him herself.
Just in time too with this nasty weather.
Chris
All I can say is YA! and thank you.
