All of us in rescue have been trying for days to find a home for a little mare found wandering around near a busy highway. We finally found her a home, but didn't have the means to get her there. We put the word out that a horse trailer is desperately needed.
FINALLY, we found one. Unfortunately, it was too late. The little mare has been sent to slaughter. :(:(:(
RIP sweet little mare. We tried, honest we did.:(:(:(

Actually, I found out the story. A woman rescued the mare but couldn't keep her and asked us rescuers to find a home, either foster or permanent for her. We asked her if she'd be willing to keep the mare till we could make arrangements. She agreed. We did, but we needed to find a horse trailer to transport her. Every single one of us was on the phone and emails begging anyone who had a trailer if they'd be willing to transport this precious mare to her new home. This morning we got the good news that a trailer had been found. When the rescuer was called with the good news, she told us that it was too late, that she sent the mare to slaughter.:(
I hope everytime that bitch sees a can of dog food, it makes her physically ill. I've been in a funk all day because of this. This douche bag's impatience has killed a beautiful creature.:mad::mad:
