Well, we did not intend to get a cat so soon after Seine passed away (of course we still miss her more than words can say :(), but we really got lucky with the right little kitty!
Meet Kiki (she is named for the movie Kiki's Delivery Service (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097814/))! She may have been born in May, so she is about 4-5 months old. Pip and Des were looking kind of dispirited because of Seine's absence, so I went to Petco to look at cat toys and of course looked at the cats they had for adoption from the local shelter. (I don't know why I always do- I probably shouldn't). Anyway, Kiki was there and just seemed like such a nice little cat, so I went back with Eric, and of course we took her home. She was at the shelter since she was at least 2 months old- I'm pretty sure she was not adopted because she did not like leaving her cage and would fight to get back in it.
She has been with us for only a couple of weeks, but now it's like she's always been with us. She's slapping dogs and playing with the cats. Pippin adopted her as his kitten (like he did Des), and Desmond has accepted her as his new playmate. I'm so happy they all get along- and Kiki even likes Lyra, who loves trying to grab her. Anyway, on to the pics:
