Apologies if this is not the correct address to post notices, I want to help these guys! Apparently this "friend of a friend of a friend" (via another rescuer) is leaving town and tried to find a home for two of their cats has said she's just going to drive them, open the car door and let them out...supposedly she has called all the shelters and rescue organizations and no one will take them.
Is there any place that might take them even temporarily?
As many of you might already know, my family has rescued 5 kittens in our 5 year tenure in Brooklyn. Each time, we didn't think we could keep them, but also couldn't leave them to die or multiply exponentially on the street. So we have 5 cats.
We are about to move to Portland, and are happily taking some of our cats with us, but can you imagine anyone renting a house to us with 5 cats? Also we have a dog.
We can't either.
Our cats are in two sibling groups and we are looking for a home for the older sibling group. These cats are full-grown (almost 4 years old). They are sweet and sensitive and a bit independent. They are an orange tabby and a calico and look very fetching together. They are both spayed females. Their names are Opal and Ginger.
They would do best in a household without other animals. The main reason that we are looking for a home for these two rather than all of the other cats, is this pair has never been happy with our dog. The second group of kittens are fine friends with him.
Please consider making a home for these cats. Also pass this along to anyone you know that might have a home for them. We will travel to take them to a loving home, so please distribute this freely.
