my senior calico cat did something odd just moments ago
she used her litter box this morning had a bowel movement and then I saw her rubbing her butt along the floor YUCK:eek:
does this mean she has worms?
she was an outdoor cat a few years back but we moved into an apartment 2 and a half years ago so she has been an indoor cat ever since

It doesn't mean worms, but she may have impacted anal glands - that's a common sign, and she's gotta be uncomfortable. A trip to the vet, and they can "express" them, and check for any infection.

I wouldn't worry about just one instance but repeated occurrences could mean tapeworms (you may or may not see them) or impacted anal glands.

I agree, some of my cats will do that from time to time, it may mean they have bowels that are too hard or dry, and after using the box, they do that. it IS gross tho. :eek:if it keeps happening then take the cat to the vet to check.
