Help!

My Aunt's cat followed my cousin here after school (its about 2 blocks from her house to here) and got in the back yard where my dogs run him up our peacan tree. No matter what we try to do he just keeps getting higher in the tree.
(My dogs were inside for all of these)
Call his name - goes higher up the tree
Tried to squirt him with water to get him to jump (when he was still low enough to jump safely) - goes higher up the tree
Left him alone - goes really higher in the tree
Put a can a food up in the branches - came down a little and went right back up
He hasn't been an outside cat long (maybe 2 months) and I think he's just getting himself stuck up there. I'm outta ideas here besides someone risking their life to climb up there to him (my lil bro has offered) but I think he's too far up there for someone to climb.

Isn't this one of those jobs for the fireman to do, come and rescue a kitty in a tree? Maybe Phred (Dad to Cinder, Smoke and Boots) has a good idea of what to do?:)

LOL

I thought of that but we have a (lazy) volunteer fire dept!

This happened to my parents cat when she was a kitten. She kept climbing up higher and higher in their tree and wouldn't come down. My mom called animal control or the Humane Society, I forget which one, and they said to just let her stay up there and she'll eventually come down by herself. It took a while but she did eventually come down and never climbed that tree again. It was a big pine tree so she had sap all over her and some of her whiskers were missing.

I would call the fire-brigade !!! It wouldn't be the first time that a cat hurt itself when falling out of a tree !! Once heard of one that lost all his nails !!!
Please help that kiity out of there !

        I bet he has! :D

Once, Fister crawled up on a pretty tall container and was sitting there miawing pitiful. We went to the yard to get a mattress someone had chucked out, to put on the pavement for a softer landing, but as soon as we entered the yard, Fister came running! :D
As the others say, he'll come down by himself! But anyway, perhaps you can find something soft to put around the tree. ;)

Good luck!

Well you guys were right he did come down by himself. Took all nite.

I went to check on him one last time about midnight and it looked like he was at the top of the tree, can't really be for sure all i could see was the light reflecting off his eyes (he's a black cat).
Someone let the dogs out during the nite but in the hour that it took for Mom to get the dogs and wait for the sun to rise he had gotten down and was gone. He is now back home and hopefully won't try that again.
