He hadnt been feeling well , but he wouldnt allow me to put him in the carrier so the Vet could see him. I never have been able to pick himup although he would come for pets even thoough hes been here almost 10 years.I found him on the back porch , here in spirit only.

I know he misses his Meezer Friends and he had become reclusive lately.

It was Joseph and Miquelito who found John Hnacock lying half in and half out of the Cat Stand.:(
Joseph was gently kneading John Hancock , and I think trying to awaken his Companion.
It was so touching and sad.:(
John Hancocks gone to be cremated and then he will be with Precious, Ebony Beau Tubster , Gem and Bo Bo by the wishing well.
I feel so badly that John Hancock wouldnt trust me to put him in the carrier so My Vet could pick him up.
:(:(:(
And the sad thing is that Scrappy 2, Pouncierge and Miquelito are like that I cant catch them either.
What will I do if they fall ill.
I am so sad.
:(
At least John Hancocks iin Heaven now , but I wonder if he would be if I could have caught him.Its sad that after 9 years he still ran away.

Gary, I am so sorry for your loss. John Hancock was a precious kitty. Please don't burden yourself over worrying "what if". You provided a wonderful home for him all these years.

((Hugs)) to you.

Dear John Hancock had a longer life because he was at the Hotel, Gary.

He had decided that no one was going to pick him up, and lived that determination out to the end. Stubborn types, Meezers can be.

John, you are with all your Hotel friends again. Rest in peace, dear kitty.:love:

He had the BEST possiable home in the world that a handsome cat like him could have. He also had all the love a boy could want. He knew he was loved, by you and by all of us here. He was a star here on earth and he has moved on to shine brighter than ever.

Gary, don't beat yourself up because he wouldn't let you catch him. You had 9 WONDERFUL years with him that he may not have had, if you hadn't found him. I know you will miss him...and we will too! ((((HUGS))))) to you and his fur buddies.

I have no doubt that you all will walk across that bridge together one beautiful day!

Gary, John Hancock and his Meezer partners and all their Found and Porch and Poofed Cat companions have all had so much richer, so much better lives than they would ever have had had they not come into your life. YOU have made the difference, have given them all the world to love and enjoy.

As Candace says, John was stubborn and determined to do things his way. He died peacefully and restfully at home, with all his beloved fur-siblings and his wonderful dad, the best dad ever, nearby.

You and he and all the others can sit down together and have a beer and talk over this and everything else you've ever wanted to discuss with each other.. one fine day. ;):)

Gary,

So sorry that your handsome wedgie Meezer needed to cross over.
He lived on his own terms, and that's how he was happy. Sometimes they are just inconsolable when their companions leave.

JH is so grateful to you for loving him and letting him be the cat he needed to be. Let your heart rest over him. You do a good thing for these souls.

How Grand the Reunion will be! One Fine Day.

Gary, if ever there was a person who shouldn't ask "what if", it's you. You gone above and beyond for all of your fur family and John Hancock was no exception. He slept away and that's a wonderful thing, no long drawn out suffering, just peace. I hope that you're able to find some, too, and soon. RIP, John Hancock and peace to you, Gary.

You know Gary, Medusa is absolutely right there, spot on. And gee those Siamese can indeed be stubborn I know I recently got my 4th. Please know you always did your best for them and even not forcing him to be picked up and taken to the vet was doing the best in his book. Maybe he just felt it was his time and you and nothing was going to stop him going. And he didn't want to upset you with a long drawn out painful good-bye.
Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss, he was a handsome beautiful boy and magnificent specimen of his breed.
And yes he did have the best Dad in all the world.
RIP John Hancock
Sleep easily Gary, your conscience is clear.

Gary, if you are worried about catching your other precious babies, perhaps you can have a talk with your vet about it and they can send someone to your house to help you catch the little critters. Vets really care about your pets, and yours sounds like a good one. Have a talk with them and see what they say. I can understand your concern, it's a legitimate one. Good luck! :)

The only thing is that they are not good with strangers at all, its only the fact that Aunt Janice brings food that they will stay in the same room.
They like My Aunt Joan, but sadly arhtritis has limited her catch catching.
Three of us tried to hold Scrappy 2 and she went ballistic!!!
:eek::eek::eek:
I feel so sad about My Big Balinese.

The hardest thing is watching Juke Joint Joseph as he misses his friend a lot.
He was gently patting at Handsome John Hancock to revive him, and couldnt . They were such great pals, and now Juke Joint Joseph has lost a boon Companion.
:(:(
At his age thats a major blow, and I will have to be extra nice to him, although I cant take te place of Moose and John Hancock.

gary i'm so sorry for the loss of your dear pet john hancock.
i'm sure next time this happens, someone at the vets can catch them.

if we can catch some of our semi ferels:rolleyes:than someone at the vets can help with your future ill pets.

don't worry, they will help you if you need help.and some people can really be better at catching them (inside the home i mean,to go to the vet)than others.
please don't worry so much..call,they will help,if not your vet, someone else.usually people come when needed in this kind of situation.
john hancock wanted to die at home,maybe...it's ok gary.
look at us....we have to wait when we get old and ill:(

Well we have had some nice meals at Tony Romas , and I know that Handsome John loved the Chicken and Rib Combo with the 2 Loaded Baked Potatoes!!
And the Ice Cream with Oreo Cookies.
I dont think that anyone could have caught anyone of My Ctas who dont want to be caught.
They are too fast and there are too may places to hide!!!!
Thank You for your kind words and thoughts Aunt Carla and Uncle Mike.
Heavens a little mor fun with the Siamese 6 Pack on the run.

well, than that's ok gary, because they lived a much longer life and they'll go when the body gets too old and tired, just like the rest of us when we have to leave.
just think of how much longer they lived because they had a home where they could eat whenever they wanted and not to hot or cold weather from being homeless, and with no fear of preditors looking to eat them up.
believe me,they have it made.if they can't get to the vet,so be it.

Aw, Gary, I am so sorry. I just found this. I have one who fights me when I pick her up too. Grandma will jump on the bed for pets but if she thinks you are even thinking of picking her up she runs.

John Hancock you are so missed by your cat dad and fur siblings here. Be well and say Hi to all our precious RB babies for us.

Gary, I am so sorry that I am just seeing this now. My deepest sympathy to you my friend on the loss of your handsome boy, John Hancock. Like someone mentioned, he wanted to go peacefully where he was much loved in the comfort of his own home. Not on a hard metal cold table at the vets.
Talk about LES when you mentioned how JJJ3 was patting his friend. I pray that he doesn't pine for his friend too long and finds comfort with the others.

Rest in Peace John Hancock and let your Dad know that you are doing okay.
