Yesterday Keva peed in her crate which she never does, I took her to work and she kept wanting out to go which she also never does...by the time I left work when I took her out there was blood in her urine. I tried to get her into a vet yesterday but its a local holiday so everything was closed. I called the vet today and the said to bring in a sample. I was able to collect a sample, it was brown with what looked like dried blood floating in it, definitely not good. :( Ugh the frustrating part is that they wouldn't give me anything for her until they got the urinalysis results which won't be in until monday. So wish Keva luck in feeling better until then, poor girl.

Poor Keva.:( Amy, why can't they give you the results right away? My vets always do? Whenever one of my females had a UTI, the good news is, they started getting better quickly.

Poor Baby! :(

Most Vets have stopped doing any of their own "Lab Work" ... they almost
all send it out to a contract lab that usually never sees any "patients" directly,
they only test samples that are delivered by courier or overnight package delivery companies.

Hopefully, whatever the problem is will be a Quick & Easy Fix -
and Keva will bounce back in rapid order.

{{{Hugs}}} to you Both!

I took her into the vet today, the vet thinks she has a UTI. I was a little lost on what he said, I guess her PH balance was good but she did have the blood and she has some struvite crystals. He gave me antibiotics to try and see if that clears it up if it doesn't then we'll be looking into the possibility of her having bladder stones. She acts okay as far as running around and playing but she's not interested in eating much...she is drinking water okay.

Hopefully it's just a UTI. Get better pretty girl.

This is exactly what mishka had, she had some antibiotics & they didn't really help much, we were told by vet she had struvite crystals in her urine. She passed urine lots too, licked her vulva alot of the time. We took a few urine samples in to be checked, vet said mishka has urine like a cats as it was so strong, we have to get bher to drink alot to dilute urine down. she had Bilirubin crystals too a while back. She is now on Hills CD dry vet food & it has helped alot, the crystals seem to have gone , she can't have any treats with this food, it is expensive too. The vet did mention also about her possibly having bladder stones but thankfully the food has done its job. Hugs to dear keva

Keva seems to be doing fine. She's not needing to go out all the time, no blood in her urine, etc. She acts fine so I hope this is the end of it. I had to take Nebo to the vet today though. He had a bad sore between the toes of his back foot, I was pretty sure it was a hot spot (unfortunately he gets them quite frequently) but I was concerned it could also be something else like a foxtail stuck between his toes. He also had a small lump by his eye that I had been wondering about for a while. The sore on his foot is a hot spot it should heal up fine and I can't remember the name of the lump by his eye but its nothing serious and they don't need removal unless it gets big enough to interfere with his vision. So as long as Skya doesn't find something that requires vet attention I think they are all okay. Phew.

Glad to hear Keva is better. I watched Moon today, he's also had a bad uti, but he's on the mend now.

Kisses to Bebo-boy. Those hot spots are NO fun at all!!! Star has a small growth by her eye too, our vet said the same thing, no need to mess with it unless it grows to the point of irritating her eye.

Miss you guys!

Well I guess Skya wanted a turn too. She was stung (bees? hornets? I don't know) multiple times on the face on Sunday. Her face swole up huge, she looked like a hippo. My dogs have all been stung by bees before and within 24 hours they were fine and the swelling went away. Well by today her muzzle was still swollen and it was bright red around her lips and eyes plus she wouldn't eat and has been throwing up. So guess who got to go to the vet today? The verdict is that she must just have a stronger reaction than the other dogs, I guess? the vet wasn't entirely sure why it was still like that. So I have some things to try and see if it helps. You can tell she doesn't feel good she's just been laying around which is very unlike her. She only weighs 28 lbs, last time she was 32, I think it could be that she hasn't eaten either though.

Double awesome is that my car brakes (front and rear) went out and I was planning on taking it on a 3 hour trip this thursday. The window decided it no longer rolls down now too. Also its slow at work so I haven't been making any money. It's just starting out to be a great month so far, ugh. Wish Skya luck in this working otherwise we have to figure out whats causing it - could be a bacterial infection or something too.

Could it be Skya got stung by more bees/hornets than the other dogs did? I hope she's better soon. I hope things turn around for you also.:)
