Zz has moved on to the Rainbow Bridge today. We couldn't sit and watch him suffer to breathe any longer. It's only been a week since we found out it was cancer.. and its been the hardest week to deal with. J made the decision this morning to let him go. And boy was he ever ready to do so. He had a great night's sleep.. best he's had all week probably. But was never able to sit or lay down since he woke up this morning. It was just too much to bear to let him pace back and forth.. from back door to front door. That was him telling us he was ready, I believe.
Zz's Story:
January 2005 my gf J went to the local Animal Control in search of a dog. All her life she'd had cats, and wanted a change.. Thanks to Cesar Millan's show in part. Once she walked through the doors, there he was, sitting in the first kennel. He just sat and wagged his tail. She was drawn to him but still took a lap around to see everyone.. but alas, she went back to him. His 6 month stay was almost up. Several others had adopted him and brought him back. J decided he was the perfect one for her... although his name needed to be changed... Forney just didn't fit.
I really believe that he had the best 4.5 years of his life here with J and I. She saved him from dying then.. but knew it was time to let him go now.
We spent Friday afternoon at a local park with him. It was the MOST beautiful day we've had here in a LONG time. We just laid around with him, enjoying the day. Here's a picture of him from then:
