Ok, so we all know I'm a big ol' foster failure. This time I've been doubly bad at fostering.

It seems like the end result of this year's fostering attempt will end like this:
My daughter taking Mikey (which we already knew)
My daughter taking Mystic too (because he and Mikey are incredibly bonded)
and me keeping Trixie. (oh yeah, you all knew it!)

You see.... they both had adoption apps on them this week. I was EXCITED. The people were AWESOME. But they backed out for some reason. And I felt a huge sense of relief.

I mean, how can I let this face go anywhere?

I go between thinking she's the prettiest kitten EVER, to thinking she's not as pretty as some of the brown tabbies in the rescue. Seriously.... I think my major indecision about adopting her comes from the fact that she's NOT a brown tabby.  Will someone please come to my house and hit me over the head over THAT one?

And I can't express how excited I am at the idea that her blackie brother might have a great home with my daughter... and that I might get to se him grow up into a sleek black cat

Sure, I'll come hit you over the head and then steal Trixie. :p I think her and Paizly would be great together. hee hee (kidding of course)

I'm so excited to hear they are all three staying with you guys. :D And this is why I can't foster. :)

This is excellent news for the babies. But I'm concerned about the apparent lack of available toys for Mystic. Poor little guy has to play with a brick. ;)

ROTFLOL

Actually you NEED some variety in that house. And Harry really NEEDS another kitty splashed with white. ;)

That is TOO funny! :D

...and I agree, Baby Edwina (Trixie) might get stolen in the night!! You have to watch those E's!! :)

Thats so funny about the brick.
But our Ctas do make thier own toys and will sometimes ignore the ones that you buy and think are so coool!!!!
And Trixie really does have a lot of HH Lady Edwina Roses Coloring, but that means you have to adopt a Baby Juke :D: Joint Joseph!!!
:rolleyes::rolleyes:

What's wrong with a brick. Our CREW plays with any thing thats not nailed down. If they realy want it nailing does not help.

Technically, that is not a brick but a door stop! :D :p It keeps the door open and Mystic was simply making sure it was heavy-duty enough to do the job. I know the door also is in bad need of a pint job. I have had a gallon of red paint sitting in the bedroom since thois past fall..... and spilled it a couple days ago. One corner of the bedroom has a HUGE Deep Red paint spill. I didn't even try to rub it clean -- too much paint. Oops.

We just found a monkey in the works for Heather adopting Mikey..... they said he must be declawed. :( :( :( What do we do now? There's no way we will declaw the boys! NONE! And Mikey is just like Pouncer in regards to trimming his nails -- he wants nothing to do with it. I'm hoping to get his nails down low like I used to do with Harry. Maybe if the nail is cut down to the nail bed, they'll approve him. Maybe?

Boy can we ever relate!! That's why I cannot foster nor bring anymore home! I can see why you failed!:)

Okay, just as soon as Soncat is ready, I'm coming straight over there to bop you one right over the head. While I take care of business, Soncat will put Trixie into his pocket and sneak her out. We don't want that sweet little baby to witness anything that might upset her.

Beware and be warned!

Will Mystic have to be declawed, also? How terrible for the kitties!:(

Do they check the paws, or can you just agree and then not do it?

I hope that you can work something out. Why doesn't your daughter look for apartments that don't require declawing or has she already put down a deposit on the current place? I'd love to be able to watch all 3 of these former fosters grow up.:)

This was the only one that accepted students as the leasee, as well as allows pets, as well as actually being a NICE place for a rather affordable amount. All th other places that offered the same options were easily $200 a month more. OR they were absolutely unkept -- ratty carpet, needing paint, questionable people living in the building, etc.

I have the feeling I'm going to show her how low the claws can get without being declawed. and promise that his nails will remain trimmed in such a manner. I have the feeling that educating the rental agent about declaws will be a waste of my breath.

AND now, because of this, hubby wants to take both Trixie and Mystic to Sunday's adoption event. :( :( :(

We had a meeting with the therapist this afternoon and the dr. said there was no choice but to keep her. So she's staying! Talk about an AWESOME therapist! :D

We will also ignore the whole declaw thing for Mikey and Mystic. I'm going to trim their nails so low that technically no claw shows.... which by definition is a declaw. Its just not a permanent declaw. :) I doubt the apartment manager will perform surprise nail inspections.

How's this for an excuse?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/kasdesign/Trixie-Callie-snuggle.jpg

I mean, how can I take her away from Callie? She'd be a heartbroken puppy! We certainly couldn't have that, could we? Then we'd need a therapist for the dog, and our insurance won't cover her sessions ;)

PS: She put her paw around Trixie. I had nothing to do with it. I swear! Those two are always together... finally, I got my dog and cat pair!

Oh my gushness!! That is the cutest picture ever!! I'm jealous. ;) Although I might have that if I didn't get Taggart. He always interrupts Zoee and Paizly's little "sessions". (Their sessions are Zoee cleaning Paizly and Paizly coming up with a nice wet head. :p)
