On another note, Bob attacks me!!! I love him and he is just my best bud most of the time, but when Dan is on the couch and he calls me over to either show me something - book or computer - I try to sit down next to him - BOB jumps up and runs over and starts nipping at me, will grab my pant leg - even jump up on the couch and try and wedge between us. Continually biting at me , growling and just being being very threatening. In bed at night it is the same. If I have a sore neck or back and Dan offers to give me a backrub, I roll over and he will - and Bob just keeps on sleeping at the foot of the bed. Turn it around and Bob will jump up and come running up to top of bed and start the same threatening behavior towards me. It is so annoying. Any suggestions?

First thing you need to do is not allow him to stay on the couch or bed so that he knows he is not equal with other members of the family but is at the bottom of the stack so to speak. When he is showing this type of behaviour correct him immediately with a firm "No" and make him do some basic command such as sit or lie down. When he obeys give him a lot of praise. Keep doing this and he should come to understand what kind of behavior is acceptable and what kind is not.
