Oh, dear, Todd. I am no help! I have the exact same problem!!!! I am never able to post as an attachment. But I have found when I move my image to an outside album (I use www.shutterfly.com) I am able to at least insert the image into a post.

Maybe someone else will have a better idea for you.

Todd, do you have any programs on your computer that allow you to resize the pictures? I have windows xp and it came with a program called image editor. This allows me to resize, crop, rotate, fix red eye etc. If you don't have any programs for this then maybe there are some that you can use online some where. Good luck. :)

Mine are resized, but I cannot explain how to do it, but oh well I'll give it a try I love to help people!! First of all, go to the folder that the photo is in. Then click on the photo. Now you should see the photo. There also should be little icons at the bottom. Look at the floppy disk icon. Click on it, and where it says save file to- just pick GIF instead of JPG. I don't know how it is for you, but that is how I do it, but I have a Windows XP. My pictures are small enough to go on, but it loads for like an hour!! Then when it finally finishes, the attacvhment is not there. Geez, it's annoying. I also tried to post one of my photos as an image, and it was HUGE!! Either way, at least I figured out how to do my siggy (sorry I used your word again, Wolf_Q!), and maybe somebody else will help me out on attaching them. Hope this helps!!:)

If you don't already have a photo editor, I recommend Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com). It is free, and easy to use.

This forum says pictures attached have to be less than 60000 bytes (or 60 kbs) in size - so you need to get it below that.

Open your picture in Irfanview. Go to file >> save as. You will get a box that prompts you to name your picture. On the drop down thing under where you'd type the name (Save as type), choose JPG-JPEG.

On that same box is a button that says "options". Click on that, and you will get a slider thing for the amount of compression to use. You will have to play with compression to get it under 60 kbs. I ususally use from 60 - 70 compression. Once it is below 60 kbs, you should be able to upload it.

:o :o :o I got my Windows XP machine within a month or two of you getting yours... perhaps I have image editor, too. I just looked for it and didn't find it, though. Would you either call me or PM me where it is filed on your computer to give me an idea where to look in mine? Thx.

I think image editor is only on your computer if you have MS Office installed. XP comes with a program called "Picture and Fax viewer", but that program cannot do editing. If you do have MS Office, look in that program group for the image editor. Or else get Irfanview - I use it a lot even though I have Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro - it's faster for simple cropping and resizing.

I also have Irfanview. To resize my pictures, I go into File at the top tool bar, open a file, Click on Image in the tool bar and choose Resize/Resample. On the top right of the screen there is a box with some standard sizes. You can pick one. I usually click twice on Half. This is a good size for e-mails.

You can also use it to custom size, by playing with the width and height.
