I have had my dog since birth, she was raised with her brother, her mother and her father, and she is fine with them, but any new dog I introduce her to she is afraid of, it takes about a month of constant contact with any one dog for her to get used to them, and then she's fine, But at first when they are interested in her she wants nothing to do with them, once they stop being so interested in her does she gain interest in them and will sniff and get to know them but if they become interested in her again she shies away. She's snapped at a few dogs. I have her around other dogs as often as possible only on a one on one basis, groups is just too hard to monitor. What else can I do to get her used to other dogs more quickly?
As for the children, she has always had an instinctual fear of children she has never had a bad experience with one she just sees one and runs. When she had puppies she bit a child because he was going for her puppies, and apparently she bit another child for getting too close to her. She has only ever bit anyone or anything when I'm not around, so I'm not exactly sure of the situations that would cause this to happen. I'm pregnant, and I'm a little nervous about how she's going to act around my child. Any tips on what I should do about this would be greatly appreciated.
