Hi, I know last time I posted something instead of doing it first, well, that was stupid but this time this is really weird!! Lady is breathing through her nose very loud and unusual, and she is running out of breath. Right now she is sprawled on the floor, and only breathing with her nose, not panting. I can tell something's wrong, but my mom is a at a concert and my sister is at her friend's house and my dad is at the fish store (which he takes an hour at), so I am home alone. I am really scared she is going to die, but I don't know my vet's number, so who should I call????? What should I do I need help fast she is breathing more faster now and heavier too!! In the meantime I will try and see what she is trying to do and call my mom and tell her I hope she is okay it is really weird it is like she is gasping for breath and she is a senior dog......:( :( :( :( :(

Can you reach your Mom????? Do you know the name of your vet? You can call information and get the number or use the phone book!! Is there an adult neighbor nearby that can you ask come over and maybe take you to the vet? Oh, I feel so helpless!!! Try and stay calm and reach someone that can help you. Let Lady lay quietly where she is for now until you get some help. Oh, please be ok, Lady.

THis sound VERY familiar. Do you know the name of your vets? Maybe you could find it on the net and call.
This happened to Simba a while back, He breathed threw his nose. WE called our vet and the told us to put ice cube in his mouth and ice packs on him [maybe it's the heat?] All day he drank water, and threw it up.. owl after bowl. Then around 9 at night he broke put in big red bumps itching like crazy. After $140 dollars later at the Emergency Vets, he was alright. They said maybe he had bitten into a frog or get bit / stunf by something. I'm sure she'll be ok. Just pay close attention to her. Is she old?

Your dog Lady is having trouble breathing, you think,
and the first thing you can think to do is logon on and
post a HELP message? Are there no trusted adult friends,
family or neighbors that you can ask. You don't know your
Vets number or how to look in up in the telephone book?

If you dog is in trouble, you can't afford to freak out like
that. I'm glad you called your Mom and I sincerely hope
that Lady will be alright. You both will be in my prayers.

Oh I hope Lady is OK. The last post you wrote said that there was someone there checking her out. Is she OK?

Poor girl! I am glad you were able to reach your mother. Please update us as soon as you know something. Lady is in my thoughts.

She is staying overnight at the animal hospital, and we will have to go back tomorrow to see if she is going to be okay. Thanks for praying, and I hope that she is okay. I guess we will have to see in the morning. And the reason I posted here was because if I couldn't get through to my mom, I would have to do something else, and I have no idea what my vet's number is, and have no idea where my mom keeps it.

Right now, ask whatever parent is home and awake, for your vet's name and phone number. Write it down and put it in a safe place, just in case. If you tend to keep email a long time, email it to yourself, save it on your computer - just so you have it for nexy time.

yes, email it to yourself, thats a good idea... I do that alot...and if it should ever happen again( I hope it never does though!), another thing to do is to look in the phone book under veternarians. but keeping the number handy is the best idea, either in the email, or on a paper taped to the side of the computer, or under the keyboard. I do that or I lose the paper!
please post an update and let us know what is wrong with you dog.

I will pray that Lady is ok. Please let us know.

I know Killian's vet's number by heart. For the others in the household, it is hanging on my fridge.

Thank God it's a miracle!!! Today just an hour ago we got to see Lady, and she was running around in their play-room place (can't explain) and she looked perfect!! The doctor said that she had only had a minor breathing discharge, or something like that, I wasn't listening, just petting Lady!! She gets to come home with us in an hour because they have to do a last minute check to see if everything's alright for sure!! I can't wait!!:D :D

{{{{{{{{{{lady}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

please go write down your vets' name address and phone number and put it in a safe place...a dresser drawer or something like that...so you won't be so frightened and unsure should anything ever happen again......

It's wonderful to hear that Lady is doing better now
and that we were not being snookered. I realise how
scary it can be when you think something serious might
be wrong with one of your loved animals.

If I may answer one of your PM's here; the dog in my
sig. is my dog of a lifetime, Buddy. He passed over the
Rainbow Bridge in August. All the Best to you & Lady.
Liz.
