Gabbie ...

Known to one and all who visited the Findlay Bark Park at Riverbend as
the beautiful Gentle Giant and dawggie Ambassador of good will, Gabbbie
has left us down here on the Dirt Ball to take on a new assignment as one of
God's FurrAngles at The Rainbow Bridge.

She's well quallified to be the Bridge Greeter ... everyone who knew her
could recognize her ear-shattering *Shout-Bark* greeting with her head out of
the back car window as Mom rounded the bend on the road and slowed to pull into
the Dog Park ... Gabbie's *WOOOOF* announced thier arrival! :)
Most every dog inside the Park would gather at the gate to *welcome* Miz Gabbie.

She played gently with one and all - big or tiny - Gabbie befriended all creatures
who ventured into "her" dog park.
She had the manners of a Princess ... no leash required - just hearing "Gabbie ..." from Mom
and she'd be intently looking for a hand signal to follow.

A "professional girl" - she *worked* with Mom at the family Kitchen Shop in
downtown Findlay ... Official Greeter would have been her title.

Sadly, the sudden onset of Degenerative Myelopathy struck and destroyed her
ability to stand and walk ... she wasn't the Happie Kampur she wanted to be.
Sunday she visited the Bark Park - but had to say "Hi" from the comfort of the back seat.

Today, Momma Carrie said her G-Byes on the soft lawm of the Hospital,
and Gabbie slipped off to her new adventures at The Bridge. :(

:(

Romp Happily at The Bridge, Pretty Girl ...
and know that ALL of us will never forget you.

Please join in offering Carrie your Sympathies,
and feel free to add any Gabbie Tails that you'd care to share.

Carrie, I was fortunate enough to meet you last year at the Memorial Day Findlay picnic. This was where I fell in love - with Gabbie.

She "is" just beautiful. I use the present tense, because I know that she is just as beautiful at the Rainbow Bridge as well.

It was my honor to meet her and pet her and talk to her. Her sweet nature just radiated from her.

I cannot begin to tell you how very sorry I am for your huge loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers and my heart goes out to you.

Carrie,

I'm so sorry your girl is gone. She gave me some of my fondest memories of Findlay, especially the time she played with my Simba. He doesn't play with just any dog!

Though I am not familiar with Findlay and its regulars, I can tell from this thread that she was one very special dog.

My heart goes out to her family and friends. They will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Rest Easy, Gabbie. This world is going to miss such a sweet soul.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Gabbie was a certainly a special dog. I can't go to the park and not think of her leaning out the window barking her greeting, and all the dogs running along the fence as you rounded the bend. She was such a great dog!

RIP Dear Gabbie!

:( Aw nutz. I came to Dog Memorial because of Paxil, and I find Gabby here too. Phred, please tell Carrie how very sorry we are for her loss. JoJoe, Star, Rosie, Sherman & I all spent many many hours with Gabby & Carrie at the dogpark. LOL, you could always tell as soon as Carrie turned into the park, you could hear Gabby's big deep "woof woof woof" coming down the road long before you saw her head sticking out of window of Carrie's little car!

There may not be many people here on PT that knew how active Carrie was in keeping that dogpark up & running, especially those first few years. Gabby will be missed.

Run free, pretty girl, round up the gang up there and have a PT reunion for our RB pups!

(((hugs))) to Carrie from our whole pack

... There may not be many people here on PT that knew how active Carrie was
in keeping that dogpark up & running, especially those first few years.

Gabby will be missed.

Over the years, I wrote a LOTTA Letters, and made lotsa phone calls to
Tim B - the now Retired Park Director - to lobby for many of the improvements
we see in the park today. Sometimes he listened, sometimes he didn't ...

Whenever I ran into a stone wall, I quickly learned to just 'mention'
Carrie and her Band of Dog Park Regulars ...
and ole Timmy almost fell over himself to start agreeing with the idea. :)

Carrie and Gabbie are known far and wide ... it won't be the same at the Park
without Gabbie to grace the place. :(

I hope she finds a spot to her liking under the new Pavilion.
