I joined PT just over a year ago. Soon after joining I got the idea of starting a thread for the purpose of chronicling how I came to be possessed by so many furry critters. After a while, members of this forum, as well as other friends of mine encouraged me to compile the stories into a book. Finally, after much coaxing I sat down to do just that. After reviewing five proofs, I finally gave my approval to have the book published.

The book is listed on createspace.com and will soon appear on amazon.com. The list price is $13.95 (US). For all members of PT I am offering a $4 discount on the purchase price of the book. You may use the following discount code when checking out:

9L7GEXS2

Your cost will therefore be $9.95 (+ tax and shipping).

I shall offer an abbreviated version of the book in a free pdf to PT members only. Please PM me with an email address and I shall send you the pdf (probably at least 10 chapters). Please allow me a few days to get this done.

The book is 214 pages long, with 35 chapters, and is a paperback edition. The size is 8.5" x 5.5".

The book may currently be purchased at the following site:

https://www.createspace.com/3380930

I have already been contacted by the Corinth Alcorn County Humane Society (http://www.cachs.com) to hold a fund-raiser event. The president of the society called me, not knowing that I had a book in the works. She was aware that my local newspaper carries a weekly article, written by me, which contains one of the stories from my website.

I told her about the book, so now I shall be doing a reading and a book signing at our local library. Hopefully, we can raise awareness of the shelter and its needs, and perhaps even raise some money.

Please feel free to email me directly at [email protected] or PM me if you have questions.

A general interest Question >>>

How to we get a *SIGNED* edition of the boook?

;)

Is the shelter you mentioned the one near where you live? Where they sadly have a high kill rate? This fundraiser could work a few miracles!

Ditto what Phred said - signed??? ;)

Congratulations! :D

How exciting! I'd love to have my own signed copy but if I can't get one through Amazon, if I give you my address, can you ship me one? Your offer of a discount to PTers is generous but I'll pay full price if necessary. Kudos to you, Daniel! :)

Congratulations Dan! Well done! :) It's a matter of days now - and I'm very much looking forward to reading it!

I will certainly pass the word to my Cat-sitting group that your book is out, and I really hope it will sell! It's also great to be able to help the poor homeless kitties and dogs this way.

To Whom it May Concern. I have had to suspend production of the book for one week. As it turns out I mispelled my hometown. Well, not really. Wenasoga, Mississippi, is a very small, nearly deserted, and mostly dilapidated but venerable little community within two miles of where I live. Alas, in the book I spelled it as "Winesoga," which to the local folk would be more than a minor faux paux. The word only appears in the book three times, but it must be corrected. I have retrieved the books I distributed to the stores.

For those of you who have sent money and the check has not yet arrived, I can either send you one of the books I have, with the incorrect spelling, or if you don't mind waiting about two weeks, the revised book will be ready then.

For those of you to whom I have already sent a book, I shall make good.

Thanks for your understanding.

Dan, although I e-mailed you, I want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for the copy of your book here also. How cool to get a signed 1st Edition! It's a treasure! And it's really sweet of you to have dedicated it to John and Batman. I'm also proud of being mentioned in the "Acknowledgements" of course. :p

You have done a great job, the stories are exiting and the cover is cute, so I hope Critter Chronicles will sell well! :)

Thank you again, Dan!

Yes. The Amazon.com address is
http://www.amazon.com/Critter-Chronicles-Daniel-Taylor/dp/1442149574/

I know if I mail it to you the cost for shipping alone would probably be around $15, so I imagine Amazon will be cheaper for you. Alas, I have sold out my 60 copies, although, if you do want a signed copy from me I'm sure one of the local bookstores will let me have one.

I'll PM you, and if you want to discuss it, we can do so there.

Thanks.
