hey ya'll, i know this isn't really where i should post this but i posted this a few days ago on the 'pet general' and nobody has replied i thought maybe cause there wasn't anyone that had seen it or somethin...so i know los of you guys come here so if any of you know this i'd appreciate it a bunch!!! thankyou!!
here's what i posted on the 'pet general' section:
My tiel is about 3 years old and she has laid 4 eggs within 2 weeks..she just started sitting on them yesterday...and she has sat on them all night and day so far--only got up to eat and drink..
My question is how long does it take to be able to use the flash light trick to tell if they'll hatch into babies???
I have had baby tiels hatch before...and I remember when you hold a light under them if there is little red lines/veins then that usually means there's a bbaby inside..but if there's only yellow stuff then that means it's just an egg..so how long til you can tell w/a flashlight?? I seriously forgot...thanks if anyone remembers!!

You should be able to tell right away. Initially there is a spot in the yolk (the yellow stuff), then the veins and things come after that (probably within a week or so).

If you don't want baby cockatiels, there is a website where you can purchase fake eggs that she will sit on as if they were her own. I bought some for my parakeets and they worked beautifully. In fact, one of my females is sitting on some right now. www.theEggShop.com

You should pm Popcornbirdie. She isn't on here very much anymore, but, she knows her 'tiels.
