Hello

I am from Toronto Canada and I am a volunteer at the Humane Society. There is a nice dog that is waiting for a forever home. His name is Duke, the Id number is A054678 has been with since June and is still waiting for his forever home. He is approximately 2 yrs old, neutered male, brindle pitbull, and arrived as a lost dog.

Duke is sweet and affectionate and is more people orientated than dog orientated. He has now become depressed and is losing weight. Essentially, he is a lap dog in a big dog body. Somewhere out there I know there is a special home just waiting for him. If you live near Toronto or you live in Toronto then come by the shelter, it is located at 11 River street and the website is http://www.torontohumanesociety.com or you can call Kim Archilbald at 416-392-2273 or e-mail [email protected] We need to find him a home soon. Here is a picture of Duke.

Duke, your sad, sad picture is breaking my heart:( You are such a handsome boy, and your guardian says you are a really sweet boy too. I hate to read that you are losing weight and feeling so blue. I will be praying that some kind family finds you very soon. They won't be disappointed I'm sure. I know you will make some lucky person a very special companion. Love and hugs to you cutie.

What a poor little puppy. I would adopt him but I don't live near Toronto. I am sure there is the perfect owner out there. I feel so sorry for poor little Duke. Every little puppy should have an owner. :(

Thanks for all your thoughtful replys, I would love to see him get a home but cannot take him home because I have three cats, one cat is declawed on all four paws. But I hope someone would adopt him pretty soon and he is still at the shelter.

Will they let me have him if I live in the States?? I'm with everyone else, that picture just breaks my heart. I HATE people. If not, I hope someone gets him soon.

No you can't adopt Duke unless you live in Toronto or near by. If you know anyone that lives in Toronto then pass the word on about Duke. Thanks!!

if another home can't be found for him, could you adopt him and give him to Mugsy?

I saw your post before as to why you couldn't take Duke, but i thought if the situation really got Desperate, maybe Mugsy could go with you, you adopt the dog and she takes it home. A little fib to save a dog's life. Although since you work at the shleter maybe not the best idea...
