:( I found Poor Old Greystoke by the porch this afternoon, and he had passed on. He had been ailing the last few days, but kept his distance as he wasnt sure who to trust.
You could see where part of his tail had been crushed and lost and his back legs looked bad as well. :(
My Vet was in the neighborhood and took him to be cremated and be placed by his wishing well where he will be among friends, Stray Animals who will be friends furrever!!! :love:
He was a poor unsung stray, but tonight in Hawaii All the Angels will sing for Greystoke and there will be a luau in his honor on Maleki.:love::love:
The way you walked Greystoke
Through no fault of your own
But as the rain enters the soil
And the river enters the sea
Now Greystoke has found peace for eternity :love:
And we will all see Greystoke in all his glory in Paradise.
One Fine Day. :love::love::love:

I am sorry to read this about Greystroke. He knew where to come for feedings, didn't he? :)

You do so much for so many, Gary. I think you were the one who once wrote that one of the worst parts of having pets is that their live span is so much shorter than ours.

RIP Greystroke.

Actually I am trying to think of who wrote of Cats, darn them for dying so young.:(:(
I am glad that Greystoke at the end knew that he had sanctuary here , and was able to have Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys as his last meals.
:love::love:
He just loved the Chicken Florentine, I was watching him devour them from the porch so he felt safe.
:love::love:
And I could imagine hsi face when Greystoke came and there was a luau in front of him , and he could have all he wanted of anything!!!
:D:D
And he had wings of silver and gold, and is now in Purrfect Health Furrever.
I know I will see you My Dear Friend Again.
The Best is yet to come and wont that be fine!!
One Fine Day.

I guess that other than my neighbors to the south who are kind hearted that Greystoke would have not recieved a warm reception at all.
Although I do think he got handouts at the side of the small Auto Shop at the tracks.
Now Scrappy Apple , Pouncer Roccalno , Golden Rod and Sir Lawrence will have more access to the dishes.
I just wish Greystoke and Ebony Beau Tubster had a better fate than to die young.

Oh Gary, I am so sorry to hear about Greystoke. That had to be so heartbreaking for you to see him like that. My heart goes out to you dear friend. Like others have said, at least he knew where to go for food and love.

I can just hear him telling his story up on the RB. "I had such a hard life, where people would be mean to me and other cats would hurt me, but then one day, I came upon a house where this very nice man lived. He didn't chase me away, he gave me food and for once I finally felt like someone cared about me. I hope he knows what a difference he made in my final days. I knew I was very sick and wasn't going to be around very long, but at least I had a full stomach and finally knew that someone did care and love me. I would like to thank this gentle caring man and let him know that I passed away peacefully knowing this and that I picked his steps because I knew he would take care of me, one last time. I can't wait to see my Guardian Angel again, one fine day."

I also thank you Gary, for being such a kind, caring, loving man to all the porchies and Found cats. :love:

And I have to give credit to My Dear Mother :love::love:who put out scraps for Stray Cats and even built a little house for them so they could stay out of the rain.
:love::love::love:
And My Dear Mother :love::love: who get old boxes , put blankets in tem and we would fix upan area under the back porch for Stray Cats.
Thats how we adopted Sinbad the Tabby and Frosting the Black Cat with white frosting accents on his fur!!!
The quality of mercy is not starined it falls like the gentle rain from heaven and blesses those who give and those who recieve.

Lorraine, thank you for saying this so beautifullly. You have expressed my own feelings and thoughts perfectly regarding our beloved Gary and all he does for so many kitties who would otherwise not know love. All I can say is to follow up is, I second the emotion!

Gary, God bless you for being there and for being you! And God bless your dear mother, and may she rest in peace. She done good, bringing you up!

Greystoke, we know that the world was not kind to you.
But you saw the best of us when you saw Gary. He showed you kindness and will count you as his own, when he comes to collect you at the Rainbow Bridge.
One Fine Day.
