It's been a bad past week and a half.
The Tuesday before last we had to put Lucy, our 5 yr. old Australian shepherd down.
The Sunday prior to that, we were shooting the paintball gun in the backyard and she attacked grace.
Then two days later attacked my cat and then went after my dad.
My dad made the decision to have her euthanized, seeing as this has happened many times before.

The next day we took Grace, our 9 yr. old Golden Retriever, to the vet because she has been losing more and more weight over time. The vet ran a blood test and she came up positive for Lymes Disease. We gave her medications for about 5 days, and she refused to eat anything, and anything she did eat she'd throw up.
So on monday we took her to the vet, and she had lost 7lbs in those 5 days. The vet kept her overnight and had her hooked to an IV, and ran more tests. The lymes disease had progressed too far and her kidneys had shut down, so on Tuesday my family and I went to put her down.

And i miss them so much :'[
I come home after school and wait for them to come running to me at the door. Fire trucks drive by with their sirens and i half expect Lucy to start howling to them. I throw scraps on the floor after dinner and nobody but the cat comes over to eat them.
In the morning I wait for Grace to come running up the steps and hear her tail thumping against the wall when all I want to do is sleep a few minutes.
I've never not had a dog before. I don't want to replace them, but it's so quiet in my house.

The attached pictures are of Grace and I, and where she is buried. I still havent been able to bring myself to visit her yet.

I'm so sorry. :( It must be so hard to lose both of them so close.:( They're happy at the Rainbow Bridge now. You'll see them again one day. Cherish your memories of them. {hugs}

That's horrible. I'm sorry to hear that. I've been through this experience of losing two dogs so close to each other - 20 days apart. It's not fun at all - I still miss my girls. It's rough.

What a sad set of events that caused you to lose both so close together. I know that you must miss them terribly.

RIP Gracie and Lucy! :love:
