Since it is Earth Day, Let's get out and sit in the Mario Memorial Garden and do a little gardening?
I think a nice green tea and some Ham and Cheese sandwiches should be okay?
We can do some green slushies to mark the occasion too-that will cover the ocean!
Our 'sky' themed cocktail is
Blue Hawaiian
1 oz light rum
1 cherry
2 oz pineapple juice
1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
1 oz cream of coconut
1 slice pineapple
And a Mudslide for the earth?
Cocktails
Mexican Mudslide recipe
1 oz KahluaŽ coffee liqueur
1 oz amaretto almond liqueur
5 oz ice cream
1 1/2 oz whipped cream
chocolate syrup
1 cherry
Combine the kahlua, amaretto, and ice-cream in a glass. Swirl chocolate into the glass and add whipped cream on top.
DONE!

Hmmmmmmm ...
After trying out the DoDs to 'get in the mood' for gardening ...
I might be more inclined to just "sit & watch the garden grow".
Sign me up for the cheering section ... Flowers need encouragement.
:D
[I give up trying to *edit* this mess ...the *Editor* went krazzie and won't follow instructions.Oh weel ... ]

I am going to have to skip the gardening part myself. I tried that last weekend and now both arms are covered in poison oak. I have no idea where it came from because I was very careful about what I touched. I'll have some caladryl to soak in please.

RICHARD, I'll be around to crank up ye olde ceement mixer tomorrow, but in the meantime could I have a DOTD? In two hours I have to be at the sleep center for a sleep apnea test. Aw, I'll probably sleep through it! LOL!

Well, my thumbs aren't the least bit green ... so I'll spread mulch or fertilizer. It's 60F in Chicago today -- could I have iced tea, please?

:) Happy Thursday (almost)!
I'll have to check in with a Blue Hawaiian! Frozen/tropical drinks on the deck after a day in the yard are just the ticket! Hopefully the rain has stopped (again, I know, I said it had last week, but you know how weather is), so we can enjoy! Grilled Ham and Cheese side sounds good, too! Thanks! :D

Forget gardening here yet. It's been too cold and rainy. Snow was predicted for last night but, thankfully, it never arrived. I like the green tea and ham and cheese sandwich idea, though, so count me in. No alcohol, though. I'm still suffering w/dizziness.
Moesha, have you tried Tecnu for your poison oak? Great stuff. The itching will stop immediately. Ask your pharmacist. Feel better, k?

I've never heard of Tecnu. But I'll ask about it. I've used a whole conglomeration of things. So far the Allegra I took yesterday worked the best. I've been carrying around the green rubbing alcohol to put on it. That has eased the itching.
It's going to be in the 80s here today. I am so tempted to do more yard work. I think I'll have to leave just to save my skin.

That breakfast looks and smells great! Especially the pancakes. Well, I might as well announce it here, I definitely have sleep apnea. I found out about it this morning.

David, what are they going to do for it? Some wear a kind of mask at night to aid in breathing (my friend calls it his Darth Vader mask) with this diagnosis...or have they not reached the stage of what they're to do?
Breakfast sounds great, but I could still take grilled ham and cheese in the morning - cheese and something on the grill is good anytime! Might have to hold off on the Blue Hawaiian until at least noon, though! :D
Richard, use me anytime, I'm game! :)

Here davidp, let me fix you a plate and some coffee. So what do they suggest to do about the sleep apnea, is there anything that can be done?

Since I just found out this morning, I'm not sure what kind of treatment they will go with, they said they'll let me know in a couple of days. It'll most likely will be with a machine that will supply oxygen to me at night.

Yes, my son keeps rubbing it in, too. He's due home here in OH for a visit next month and he said "You'd better do something about that weather, mom". Yeah, I'll get right on it.

Being a redhead, I'm pretty careful about my sun exposure. I've been known to sit UNDER picnic tables at various times to get out of the sun. I was always afraid I would be covered in freckles otherwise.
I went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription, and they didn't have Tecnu. The regular pharmacist was at lunch and I wasn't asking the twirp guy about it. I had already made too much conversation with him because he was also at the storm spotter class from last night. I guess I'll just let it run it's course. The plethora of things I'm trying are doing pretty fair in keeping the itch under control. I wish there were something that would just make it go away quicker than 2 weeks.
Until then I think I shall take RICHARD's advice and sit back and have a glass of lemonade.

Richard - you really should publish a book for us with all of those wonderful sounding drink recipes. Where on earth do you find them all? I'm not a drinker, and can't stand a drink that tastes like alcohol, but so many that you post here, just sound like a yummy dessert!

Richard, any time you want to do a comedy night is fine with me!
Moesha, as a fellow redhead (or, as my husband puts it, a "touch of grey" redhead), I feel your skin pain! I swear by a product called "corticool" that's cortisone, aloe and menthol. The stuff is wonderful! I have a tube around always.
...and, as far as weather....we'll be IN THE EIGHTIES THIS WEEKEND!

You're welcome Richard! Thanks for making more coffee. Let's see it's almost lunch time and it's getting wonderfully warm here. I almost want to fire up the grill and do the bar-b-que thing. We must have ribs and stuff in the refer. I'll make some homemade slaw and other kinds of salad. Richard do we have burgers and dogs?:D

We did fire up the grill last night - had chicken. Tonight will be pork chops, and Sunday we'll have steak.

Dang, I cannot remember the exact saying, but it went something like.....
Men were born to poke the fire with a stick....IT was funnier in the original form-But there is nothing like a nice camp/cooking fire, a stool or rock to sit on and a nice long stick to poke into the coals...:D
