Anyways, I haven't posted here forever. I was just wondering, my dog is getting pretty old, and recently she's been having troubles. I got three sets of stairs that I run down than back up when I bring her for walks and normally she runs up them no problem... but lately every once a week or so she kinda stumbles up them like her paws or ankles are hurting, but the wierd thing is that it never lasts. One day she'll be limping that always within a day, and usually with in an hour or so, she gets better. Are there options out there to help keep my dogs joints healthy? By the way she's probably nearing 11 or 12 and is a Dalmation / Border Collie.

I'd check with your vet - there are some meds which can help these days, but you need a vet to check things like liver health beforehand, and monitor that.

Gonzo, my BC, is turning 8 this year and I recently noticed him acting just a bit sore and not doing the things he used to do with ease. Jumping a 4' wall has always been nothing to him, and I was immediately worried when he was no longer willing to do so.

I took him to his Vet, and they make their own joint supplements. It has glucosamine/chondroitin and mild pain reliever in it, he gets a wafer a day, and the soreness getting up from a nap and the hesitation to run/jump/catch has completely disappeared. It's quite inexpensive, too! I think it would work out to around $15-20/month.
