I once had a home but life has been tough lately. I was dumped by my owners last Christmas week behind a restaurant in Akron, Ohio. One of my friends, Blue Eyes, was there, too, but he now is living the good life w/a loving couple in Columbus. The restaurant owner puts out food but there are feral cats there who don't like a new outsider. I had a very tough winter; I lived under an old tarp behind the restaurant. I was cold and hungry, lost weight and guess what else? I had babies and they all need homes, too.
My beautiful long, black fur became so matted that I had to be shaved in spots. Last month I walked into a Have-a-Heart trap and was rescued along with some of the other cats. I've been given a clean bill of health by my rescue Dad's vet after I was spayed and I'm doing great now, playing and eating as much as I want. I even have some cat toys and a brush for my long fur.
Now comes the hard part: I must find a loving, permanent home. I am less than a year old and I'm up to date on all my shots. I'm ready and willing to be a loving companion for the right person. I love to play and be brushed. Are you the person who will give me a second chance?

Ah Mary, WHY??? She is BEAUTIFUL and I would have given my eye tooth to adopt her, because of her VERY strong resemblance to my RB Marina Mar. But I'm am maxed out at 6, thanks to Hal giving Buddy up recently. Buddy is on a rescue website and hopefully he'll get a home. If not, he stays here. He's becoming quite comfortable with everyone, even MooShoo. Of course it doesn't hurt that I have a squirt bottle in my hand almost all the time JUST IN CASE.
I hope you find her a furrever home, Mary.

I certainly wouldn't expect it of you, Donna. You've done more than your share. I think she'll probably find a good home. She and her babies are w/a rescue agency right now because her rescue dad is doing TNR work and one of his rescues just had 5 kittens. He really has his hands full. Between him and his girlfriend, I think they have 15 or so. Midnight is young, too, so she has that going for her. Thank you for even thinking about it, girlfriend. And I hope Buddy finds a good home, too, so that you won't be too stressed.

I was just kidding. She is beautiful and should be able to find a home quickly.
It's a good thing that she's in a rescue org.

She's gorgeous.:) I'm so glad that she and her babies were rescued and I'm praying that they'll all find wonderful caring forever homes.:) She sure does remind of me of my RB Pepper except that he was a male and most likely much larger than her.

Midnight has a new home. A 9 year old girl is experiencing the sadness of divorce, of daddy no longer being in the home and to make matters worse, her kitty just died of cancer. She showed up at the foster home where Midnight had been staying w/a carrier w/hand painted flowers on it. She and Midnight bonded immediately. Sigh. Gives me LES. If only all homeless kitties could have such a happy ending.

I received an email last night w/a pic of the little girl and Midnight and a thank you note to the foster dad. It was really heartwarming. I won't post it because I haven't asked for permission but I thought you'd all like to know that things are working out really well. A really wonderful success story. I wish we had more like it.
