HI, First I'd like to say "what a cute name that is- Maple Ears".
Second I just wanted to comment that I do not believe bunnies would grow a severed tail back. I think the fur had been stripped off by the dog, and since the actual tail is so small, you thought it was gone. Your first clue to this should be the fact that there was no bleeding. Either way, I am glad she is OK.

Maple Ears, you are a beautiful rabbit who has been through a lot. Thank God you and your babies were spared.
Your story is an excellent example of why rabbits should not be kept outdoors. Ever.
The House Rabbit Society www.rabbit.org (http://) offers plenty of information on this topic, describing the dangers of predators, extreme weather, and lack of stimulation.
