If somebody told you that you had to raise, breed, and sell any dog breed you wanted, what dog would it be? And, you were extremely knowledgable in ALL dog breeds, so just pick one... I might pick Siberian Huskies! I love them! Have Fun thinking about this! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

Sorry, I'm off the topic already, but I wouldn't want to breed German Shepherd Dogs, I would want to rescue German Shepherd Dogs!!!!

My first choice would be the GSD, Sue and I have such similar taste in dog breeds http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif I would not want to breed either though, too much work and I get so attached, would end up with way too many dogs because it was too hard to give them up. I also would not want to add to the pet over population. I would like to rescue and foster, like Sue mentioned, and raise and rehome, although, again I would end up with too many dogs because I get SO attacahed, would be hard to even foster a dog.

I've always wanted to rescue, but you can't make a living at it because you can't make money. If I breed, I'd want to breed German Shepherds.

To make it more fun let's say you were in a world were there were no unwanted pets. There are actually more responsible owners than there are dogs. (now remember, we're pretending http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif ) If you had lots of money and time, and you knew everything you need to know about breeding, then which breed would you breed? http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

AWWWWWWWWW, Daisy, are you cute!!

Rottie, I only wish that there were no unwanted pets. My dream is to go to the rescue sites one day and where it says "Dogs Available" it says, NONE. That would be wonderful!!

However, if that were the case, I would raise, yup, you guessed it ...GSDs!!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Thanks Pam and Sue http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif She was such a cute puppy!

I would also only be able to breed if there were no stray dogs. And even then I would be a total hysterical mess when it came time to sell the puppies. I'd get way too attached and end up with 12 dogs! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Ok, this isn't one of mine, but she belongs to a lady on the Golden Retriever board and her name is Chloe. In the perfect world, I'll give you one guess as to the breed I would like to raise.

if i could help w/ any bred it would have to be the Saarloos. what a special and rare breed! my second choice would be german shepherd wolf crosses. (i know i'd get alot of heat for this, but i have met a few, and this is the only dog i wish i'd ever have, but i know that isn't possible any more.)

(this is in an ideal world where there were no bad owners.)

Leslie, wouldn't that be the perfect combo!! I might also have to throw in a Great Pyrenees, too, though. (and maybe a Tibetan Mastiff and Shiloh Shepherd...) Uh, oh, I sound like a puppy mill! Ok, I'll just stick with GSDs!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

I'd make a new breed by breeding 2 lb chihuahuas with 150 lb anatolian shepherds, hahaha! Just kidding.

In a perfect world with no unwanted pets, I'd like to probably breed GSD's.

I would breed the ultimate in family pets..even if they do have a bad rep. As you can tell that would be the Doberman! They are simply the best babies I have ever owned! Check out my "furry family" at our web site, and read about my angel in white Fancy! http://www.whitedobespeak.itgo.com

Dogs are simply people wrapped in a fur coat!

Hey this is BandiTank (formerly known as I Love My Aussie-sorry I keep changing my name). I would most definately breed Australian shepherds and Australian cattledogs. I am highly acknowledged of both breeds, I have grown up with Australian cattledogs, even though I haven't exactly "grown-up" yet. When I get older i plan to breed these 2 breeds and be a professional dog trainer.

My father and I have very different opinions upon this matter. My very first dog was a lab, because I heard if you had young siblings they would be the best. My father grew up with boxers and says they are loyal gaurdians of there families and just have the best all around personalities. In my book LABS have to win! Sorry boxer fans!

:) I already raise boxers and I love it. I work to find good homes for them - that includes homes where there is a reputation of having particular pets all of their pet's lives. I have thought about breeding American Bulldogs and maybe I will one of these days but I just love the Boxers - I have two all white ones available.

I had a boxer for 9 years. He was the most loyal and gentle dog I've ever had. Also, great with children.
