My baby budge died last night of unknown causes, she could have been sick, we don't know. The fact that she was pretty old threw me off to, so it could have been that. She was at least 5 years old.
Star had a personality that could never be forgotten, she was the biggest brat in the entire world, but she could be nice on her own terms. Although she wasn't tame she was an awesome pet. She would chirp every time I came home or in the room, she'd chirp when I said 'apple' or 'star'. She loved getting new toys and she made plenty of use out of them. She loved apples more then anything, they were her life. She knew the word and what they looked like, if you took one out to eat it yourself you always had to cut a piece off for her. She enjoyed popcorn alot to, but not for eating, she would just tear it up. I could hand-feed her anything and she'd eat it. Star never took food for anyone else but me, and I was the only one who could've pet her. She was the prettiest bird too, with her adorable pinkish eyes and her beautiful white feather, the moment I saw her I needed her. Baby girl, I was so grateful to have you in my life, you were the best budgie I ever owned and will ever own, you were my heart and soul bird even though you were a little nasty sometimes.
I miss you so much. You will always be my little turd bird.

She was the most hammy bird in the world, I swear.
I just feel so guilty that she died alone. I know I shouldn't I didn't know it was going to happen, I knew she was aging but I didn't think it would be so soon.
Rest in Peace, wudgie bird. You will always be my turd bird, my beak brain, and my wudgie.
Fly free Budgie.

Please don'l feel guilty about Star's passing:). You have given her all the love you could, and she did appreciate that very much, by answering you with her chirping! She knew she was loved  !!!
It is always difficult to know if and when a birdie is ready to go to the Bridge... . One day they are all healthy, and the next day they lay dead on the bottom of their cage. Don't blam yourself for not having known... .
It happened to our orange canary Fifi, many years ago... . I realise how hard this feels for you... !
RIP dear Star!!
:love:Hugs to you Alysser:love:!!

I think 5 years is quite an old age for a budgie, isn't it? My goodness, she was lovely. RIP Star, fly free, young again, soaring over the green meadows of Rainbow Bridge. Hugs to you, Alicia. I think when it is sudden like that, we go into a bit of shock at first. Sending you some hugs.

I just didn't want to believe that this thread was about your Star. :(
I'm so sorry it was her time to fly to the RB.. I know how heartbreaking it is, especially when you don't see it coming. You know my heart goes out to you and your family during this time... she seemed like such a wonderful little member of the family.
((((((HUGS)))))).
Rest easy, Star! I will certainly miss seeing you around.

I don't think 5 is that old, it's more like mid-aged but I don't know how old she was when we got her from Petco. Thanks for the support guys. I'm do much better because I went to the shelter today and the dogs and kitties made me happy, but it's still really empty. Although I'm getting a dog I will miss my bird. I LOVE birds don't get me wrong but I don't think I'll ever get a bird again. They aren't really "my kind of" pet. I love them and will always. I can't believe I lost my heart and soul bird though.:(
I made her a memorial video:

Alyssa, I am so sorry to hear about Star. I know how much she meant to you just in the way you always talked about her.
She is now at the Bridge living in the apple orchards so she can enjoy her favorite treat anytime she wants. :)
RIP Star

Rest in peace, pretty bird, pretty girl
Your time is over on this old world
Fly free at the Rainbow Bridge, and be strong
Illness and age are over, your life there has begun
Join the rainbow flock, singing bright, flying free
And send little breezes from your wingbeats
Wafting down to your mommy
So she'll know you're all right now
And in her dreams and heart you'll be
Forever nestled in there, for all eternity.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Star, Alyssa :(. Budgies can live from 12-14, but they can be very fragile and hide illness well. She may have been older when you got her from the pet store. She reminded me of an albino my mom had when I was younger named Angel. Angel also passed away suddenly one day without showing any prior sign of illness. I know you will miss Star very much. Perhaps she will meet up with Angel at the RB and other beloved keets I have known. They are special little birds.

Maybe she will meet my T-bird there.

We buried you today, sweet girl. (don't ask, ground was too frozen before.)
I cried again, but I really am excited for you sweetie. This has bothered me for years and it always will. I'm sorry I couldn't tame you, even though you got so much attention I felt you were missing out on being free. For this reason I don't think I can own a bird again. I can't see it anymore, holding you back. I am so glad you are free to roam wherever you want now. May you rest in peace Star
Much love, mom
