Some of you may remember that my co-worker Nina adopted a stray orange boy while she was pregnant. Now with the baby she would not know what to do without Picco:
Picco makes sure little Leona stays in her bed.

He entertains her:

He tests the equipment:

He makes sure she is warm in all that snow:

And he even goes for a walk with Leona and her dad:

So the question is not "Can you have a cat when you get a baby?"- the question is rather "How can you have a baby when there is no helping cat ?";)

So cute! You are right, a cat is such a precious help :D

I am jaleous, I would like to borrow Picco, let's say for holidays because I am sure his mom will miss him. Valentine loves Peppito and Jasmine, unfortunately they escape when she approaches, so I don't have the chance to capture such cute moments :(
Valentine can just kiss them (and she is very gentle) when we carry the cats in our arms. No chance to take a picture though, we need at least 4 hands :D

It was fate! How could Nina ever have coped without Picco? His contribution to looking after little Leona is enormous.
Well done, you handsome boy. :D

He is s very handsome boy and he looks so healthy and happy! They are wonderful helpers with babies. I had one when my first child was born and whenever he would cry, the cat would jump in the bed to entertain him until he fell asleep. It does seem that Picco adopted the baby and not the adults..

What a sweet relationship. It surely appears to be forever. It will be fun to see if the kitty ends up being the target of dressings and play dates.

Thanks for such an uplifting story.

I agree with everything that everyone else already wrote! Just one more thing - Picco is a beautiful cat! Sweet Leona looks so peaceful in the first photo. I hope they will have a long and happy life together!!

Me too!! Picco is such a beautiful kitty too.
It really irritates me when I hear someone say "I'm pregnant so I need to find a home for my cat (or dog)". Those people are crazy!!!

It appears to me that Leona is Picco's baby...and he is gracious enough to share her! But it is important that he keep a close eye on the people when they walk the baby or otherwise interact with her.

Well done Picco!

This is wonderful.:) I've never agreed with the idea that cats can't be around babies.

That's so great!

I love hearing happy story like this too many times I read about women who got pregnant and feel the need to give up the cats because of the litter box stuff but in this case I'm so glad it worked out.

Picco is very beautiful.

The cuteness overload warning doesn't really say enough. Picco is very protective of his tiny charge and is doing an outstanding job of caring for the baby. Even better is the baby is learning to respect and love animals right from the start. They're going to be two devoted companions!
