Workmen at a restaurant in Jonesboro, Arkansas are hoping for the rescue of a cat who seems to be living there.
The cat is an gray adult. It is very friendly and wants to be held. The cat stayed with the men all day while they investigated a fire. They left food, but the men were from out of state and had to fly home so they couldn't take the cat. The fire at the restaurant was in early December, but no one knows if the cat has been there all along.
The restaurant is called the Front Page Restaurant on E. Parker Road in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

I heard about that fire on the news back when it happened.
I live only 45 minutes away from Jonesboro and my sister is there off and on throughout the week for college. The next day she is going to Jonesboro is Wednesday... I will have her check it out to see if the cat is still there. If so, I will contact the no-kill rescue group of that city (great people; we adopted one of our dogs from them) and see if they can help find it a good home.
I will give an update on Wednesday evening. :)

Sorry I was not able to update yesterday, the hard drive on my laptop crashed and I am having to use my mum's computer.
My sister did not "find time" to go check yesterday. I should have known better than to count on her. Instead I just now sent an e-mail to the head of the rescue I mentioned in my earlier post and asked if she can send someone out to check. I would love to go myself, but my schedule is pretty full this week with all the clean-up I need to do caused by this past week's ice storm.
I will update this again when I receive a response to the e-mail. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

I finally received an e-mail back. Apparantly my note took its sweet time getting to her inbox, but it finally made it!
The reply went as so:
I do not know where this email has been, but I only received it yesterday. I know several of the individuals who own and work at the Front Page Restaurant and so I called one of them. He told me the cat is no longer hanging out there, but said he would call if it showed back up.
I am sure the cat found its way into someone's heart and has found a home from someone... Jonesboro has quite a few animal-lovers there. Best of luck to the cat wherever s/he is!

Thank you for the encouraging news! Since the cat was such a lovebug, he/she will be a great addition to someone's family. I can only hope someone DID take him/her home.
