It is many years (wayyyyy pre-internet!!!) since my funny old Captain passed, but I just thought how nice it would be to be able to say ''hey Pugwash (nickname) I still remember you!'' I do not post this in sadness though! I post in happiness that I still smile when I think about him. he was a DREADFULL specimen of his breed :) Way too big, way too bulky, had a dippy back, HD front and back, semi droopy ears... everything that a GSD shouldnt be or have! He cared little about anyone but me, was not really friendly, yet not aggressive. he just ignored everyone! The only time he would show aggression was when I walked him in the dark, at night or very early morning. If anyone was approaching, I could feel his low growl rumbling all the way up his lead until they had passed by ans were at a safe distance away again. He NEVER did this in daylight hours, only at dark.
He was a lovely, lovely dog!
Oh, and he took 3 days to totally housetrain as a pup.
Good eh !

I enjoyed reading your tribute to Captain. What a pup! So glad you got to share his life. Now, thanks for sharing a little bit of him with us.

Captain is happy, healthy and romping at Rainbow Bridge, and just waiting for that day when you will be reunited. RIP Captain!

Thankyou for enjoying a brief meeting with my old faithful! And yes, I do believe they always remain close by!
