Mr. Mistoffelees is an all black cat in T. S. Elliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. In the musical, CATS!, he was a black and white tuxedo (an all black costume doesn't show well on stage.)
Today, Mr. Mistoffelees arrived here, with help from the U. S. Postal Service.
Tommy & Tuppence were observing the initial presentation:

Tommy wanted a closer look (after all, HE is all black as well!) leaving Tuppence in her pose:

Tommy approached the newbie cautiously.

All sides had to be investigated --

Mr. Mistoffelees is an indoor only cat, as he has not been treated for the elements. (Doesn't like to get his feet wet!)
This is a late Christmas present from a friend, who had a slip and fall in mid December so wrote to tell me my pressie would be late arriving. I couldn't believe it when I opened the box and started pulling pieces out of the styrofoam peanuts! His head and tail are on springs and bounce around quite easily, lol.
My mum was from England. In England, black cats are considered good luck, and my friend knew this.
